The Rain of Crystals

 

 

 

The enormous obelisk fell from its prior constraints, thundering into the ground and kicking up the surrounding dust. All vision was obscured by the event, as the pull of gravity forced it to lay out upon the ground.

 

In this moment, it blew away the dust to reveal its form before the Orc that had covered his eyes, a pickaxe of equal hue resting in his hand. It appeared comprised of the same material, humming with an odd vibration. When the dust had finally settled around it, the Orc drew his axe into it without hesitation. In a moment, a crack ran through its length, a mist of amethyst hue escaping from it and ascending into the sky.

 

As the Descendants went about their daily lives, a vibration would swathe across the land, picking up dust and dirt before settling in its passing. Above, a wave of purple painted the sky, and for hours the world was covered with an amethyst hue, the clouds looming overhead changing as well. Before long they would rain, sand-like crystals descending like purple mist. Those outside would feel it upon their skin like raining glass; yet soft to the touch.

 

Those who were already attuned to the trees would note their vision changing. Any Ghosts in the area would now be seen by them, ripe for hunting.

As the mists of crystal fell across the lands, they would sink into the soil, enriching the roots and plants of the world and igniting them with newfound energy. The Forests themselves would rustle with more life than they had harboured before.

 

For those on the edges of the forest, they would see trees sway, the sound of creaking wood emanating from within the darkness.
