MamaBearJade 2090 Share Posted July 17, 2018 How much can mind take before it breaks? How long can the body go before it gives up? Darkness was all that surrounded her these days. The pain was too much for her. She came home to surprise her father, he didn’t even see her. For years he did not see her. She felt lost in the realm, alone since she came to Atlas. Her mentor took her in, gave her a home, but still, she felt alone, isolated. She could only watch in silence as the world moved around her. Her already young soul feeling dwarfed as she watched life whirl around her. He says you are dead. He doesn't believe you are alive. She took her lessons seriously. She worked hard to try and make them proud. Her father and her mentor. She struggled through tasks. She was proud of some, disappointed with others. Her task brought her back to the grove. Her young innocent mind shocked at what she returned to. A woman, someone she never met, was angry. Why was she so angry? She couldn’t understand as a loud crack filled the air and her mentor fell. She ran, she hid. She called for the only person she knew. The blur of events made her stomach sick. You killed him. She died because of you. Months passed and she found herself staring at new people. Her mentor found new love, a new family. He brought her in to his family. He became a father to her. Yet she still missed hers. She was still dead to him. He didn’t look for her. Did he even want her? She sat in the room, went through the trial. Her heart and soul shaken by her vision. Mother. Her mentor gave her a new name. The aspects gave her a new hope. Still she was invisible to others. You are not good enough. You are not strong enough. She tried to be a good druid. She avoided her father. She wouldn’t be seen. Even to her grandparents, she was not family. She continued to withdraw from the world. She entered her mentor’s home, hoping to surprise him, only to find blood, sap, and death. Her world shattered around her, falling into stillness. She had lost everything. She wandered the rooms, finding the pieces of her family, scattered. The only room that felt safe, was the plum scented room. She curled up in the mulch, and mourned. You were too late. You cannot save them. Nineteen days. Her body slowly thinning. Her mind slowly closing. Several attempted to pry her from her grief. Her adopted mother. The archdruid. Each time, she returned. She could not leave the room. It was too much. One managed to get her to leave. They fed her, spoke to her. She could see him again, if she wanted. She had no strength to argue. Then she was seen by him. Her father stood before her, finishing a task and making her proud. The tree made her smile, made her feel warm. Then a bitter cold filled her bones as his eyes turned dark. His words cut through her and she faltered. He saw her, but he didn’t want her. You are a liar. Why would he want you? The pain overwhelmed her. She ran, she hid. She left his world behind her. She had tried so hard to make him proud, and she failed. Her heart screamed in agony as she found solace in only one place. The plums. It was a few days before someone found her again. They coaxed her out, brought her to a safe place. She felt her heart mend, but soon her soul fell through. She was not enough. She felt her mind going blank despite the words. She felt her spirit leave her even with the apologies. Was she even family? Just rest with us. Let us take care of you. She was carried to the bed. Her mind swirling as her emaciated body finally gave in. She curled up under the covers as she was coaxed into darkness. Silence echoed in the room. Her shuddering breath breaking the silence as her spirit continued to break. Her body, weak and tired, lay still under the blankets, with only the slow breath moving. Her mind, finally shattered, swirled further away from those she loved. You are broken. Spoiler OOC Note: This is not meant to anything more than how my character perceives the world around her. Rin'su is very reclusive and has been withdrawing more and more. It is not meant to do more than to show why she has fallen into the darkness that plagues her mind. While some statements in here may not be true, they are how she perceives them.
