Markev in Morning Glory, drawn by Marick of Siegrad ca 1672; after the death of Jude I at the hands of a Chimera.

At the death of the Holy Pontificate Jude I, many Haensemen were saddened as it was a stark reminder of the dangers the southern lands are the keepers of. To the furthest south the wall and in between it and the somewhat less dangerous Sleetfells lays the Yatl Wastes. No one whom woke up that day thought that a Chimera, of origins yet discovered would bring harm to the St Karl Church, the ensuing battle causing the death of the Pontificate. It was towards the end of the year when mourning had been done and sadness had slightly lifted, men and women began to look towards something to bring light to the darkness.

With these thoughts the streets began filling with stands, carts and decorated above was hanging flags of the KINGDOM OF HANSETI-RUSKA. At their sides paired prim and proper the banners of the DUCHY OF ADRIA, their two places separated yet brothers in the lands of Atlas. It seemed preparations were being made as men and women worked hardy, the Jude Jarta was to be established; an event to honor the death of Jude I and bring the Highlander Folk together. It was as much a celebration of the man's life as a pilgrimage for the faithful. In the days to come they would recount the steps of which from Markev to Adria the holy entourage had brought him upon death.

The journey would be long and arduous, it stretched from the heartlands of Haense to the near bottom of Renatus the same road the holymen had taken. The Czena river would see an uncommon bustle as a result, small ships to sail would be prepared and used in a race to the duchy’s docks. Whomever arrived at the docks first would be given Jude’s Jackstay, for in danger those at sea must trust its protection. This Jackstay a symbol for the protection Jude brought the common folk and to keep from them the dangerous harms. The participants and pilgrims would be welcomed in Belvitz and given place to stay, they rest their tired legs for the coming days for the Cathedrals bustle and duchy proper would begin festivities of its own. This Jude Jarta spanning for two saints days will be a grand event for all to witness and participate.

In Adria a Joust and Honorable Tourney would take place towards the saints days end, those who turn out victorious would be rewarded and those who lost encouraged to return for the next Jarta. There would be hearty celebration before everyone gathered at the Cathedral to pray and once again honor the life of Jude I and his achievements. The Pontificate which his place had taken, expected to hold the ceremonies and welcome the faithful flock.

A young woman would take a swig of ale, sitting across from her companions at the bar of a dimly-lit tavern.

"They honor a Pontiff who sought to bring Haense to it's knees? Dumb fucks, the 'lot of them." She'd chuckle, the group joining in as they continued their merriment.
