-A written account of Thoak’s second speech on his intentions for candidacy of High King of Kaz’Ulrah after the events of the impeachment of Edel Silvervein-

In the streets of Kaz’Ulrah, a blindfolded dwarf draws in a crowd before the great halls of the library entrance. Many would recognize this dwarf to be the same one who gave speech a month ago during the elections after High Queen Koralon resigned from her duties. Recognized as Thoak Goldhand, many would gather waiting for what he ha to say after the bloodshed that took place days ago during the vote to determine whether Edel would be stripped from his title as newly elected High King or not.

“Kinsmen and Khazadmar of Kaz’Ulrah, gather before me and listen. Not too long ago I stood here and stated my intentions for candidacy to claim the throne of Kaz’Ulrah. Once again I stand here to rally your support in the upcoming elections. Unfortunately, Grimdugan and his fickle trickery had led our past election astray with unfavorable, as well as unpredictable outcomes. A close election it was, I do not doubt that there was any regret soon after. It is unfortunate of the events that ensued, however we must move on to protect what our ancestors had built, and to carry out the Will of Yemekar. Despite such a political defeat, the flames of Yemekar still burn greatly within me, and I have foreseen this election as another chance to carry out my oath to the Brathmordakin in leading Kaz’Ulrah away from these dark times to form and build a brighter kingdom that walks in the path of our ancestors and the Brathmordakin.

My stances on many issues have not changed nor bended since the last time we gathered. Khorvad’s corruption chokes these halls with a force greater than that of Urguan for our halls lay in stagnant decay. Construction and public works lay dormant with nobody volunteering or willing to work to get our city complete. Due to such neglect, a housing crises has spawned with dwed new to these halls living in the streets or having nowhere to go! As far as I know, the blueprints for the city are there, but the workers lacking! I promise to pay those who work on completing Kal’Tarak tenfold the mina it would normally cost, otherwise this old dwed will do it himself and set an example to the lazy beardlings who would rather chase rats in the streets. The Ar Yemarin Anaros lay dormant, despite Nerak’s best efforts in revitalizing it. Our great hold lacks proper temples and shrines to the Brathmordakin! Dwedmar roam our halls without the proper education or knowledge on Yemekar and Anbella, the very gods that created us and our world! I will see to it that the Clergy will awaken, sparking the fires of unity among all Khazadmar, even those beyond our lands. Our ancestral traditions will be revived, and sacred holidays properly celebrated. Our armies have long been disbanded, or reduced to a simple militia. The seas surrounding our great hold lay unprotected and unconquered while our navy nonexistent. The Vanguard, the last attempt at raising our military, has failed. Instead of hammering at something old and unmanageable, a solution and a fix should be sought out. Our relations abroad have been greatly tarnished by the events that transpired recently. I will not bend or bow to the Empire of Man or their demands for their affairs have no meaning in our Realm. However, I must insist on the idea that they are not our true enemy, for they have no interest in us or our lands. Lastly, to the dwedmar that reside outside of our great halls, I will not waste time in pursuing in the idea of unification for it will never work. Instead of wasting time dealing with such nonsense, the time will go towards the betterment of Kaz’Ulrah and those that reside in our lands. In time, you will have no choice but to come to us without demands and deceit in mind. I ask for those of you who have gathered here today to consult with your Clanfathers once more, and to finally chose a candidate with Kaz’Ulrah’s best intentions in mind!

Narvak oz Kaz’Ulrah, Narvak oz Brathmordakin, Narvak oz Khazadmar!”

Thoak bows his head at an angle before the gathered crowd before departing.
