Suffer No Evil

We are forever lost without fire to strip us of our blindness. It is the flame of a torch that directs the eyes, the flame of the hearth that guides the heart and the flame of the soul that steers the spirit. Without the light of the Father, we would wander the world aimlessly without sense of direction or the ability to see the wonders we are gifted, but it is at His hands that we have been granted a beacon of light, of hope, to lead us through the darkness that plagues our world - the darkness that plagues our very being.

Of course, fire does not cast out all darkness - the brighter the flame, the harsher the shadow. If we are to truly eradicate shadow, we must also eradicate it’s source, else we will allow the darkness to consume us all. Sin is the source of all darkness. Sin casts the shadow.

Despite the best efforts of the faithful to purge the evils of the world, this land is rife with sin. Sin takes many forms, each as vile and twisted as the Ancients who work relentlessly to seed it in those that are weak of mind and spirit.

There is, however, one form that sin takes which is perhaps more vile than any other. The practise of the wicked arts is a plague on this world. These foul arts were born from a sick and twisted origin, planted in this world by the none other than the Ancients themselves. For too long, the blasphemy that is Wytchcraft has been allowed to exist - to thrive even! Is it not time that we took a more active stance in obliterating this blasphemy - this evil? When a blight spreads across your crops, do you not burn the affected crops before their disease can take hold of the rest of the field?

The truth is, we can hold little hope for the practisers of a sin so violently abhorrent in nature. Such an act tears at the very spirit of a being, dimming the fire that the Allfather placed in their soul. While some may still be cured by the Father’s flame, many will have been corrupted to the point in which they are mere husks of the beings they once were. Such beings are the puppets of the Ancients and the Agents of the darkness. You cannot kindle a fire when the wood is rotted and decayed. If we truly wish to eradicate darkness, these beings must be eradicated too. We must “ensure, in the end that only the light of faith remains”, as Patriarch Arthas I once wrote.

Now more than ever is a time when we must not allow ourselves to forget the Father’s own words, “Tolerance is cowardice. Suffer no evil”. Has the Father not given us all the instruction we need?
