Auriel_ 652 Share Posted November 5, 2018 The Elven Dossier, as written and documented by ???????? annotated for and by Kaz Ithelenan the Butcher and the Autarch Auriel First Encounter: The Baltas-Lucahz Incursion 18th of Sun’s Smile, 1688. From Old Curon, three groups of Elven Avchirran are dispatched, each with different sets of instructions and direction. The first team is tasked with the venturing forward and, in the cover of the treeline closest to the river launch arrow volley from the trees, scan the ridgelines of the plains and treeline to the greater west to defend their Imperial comrades from ambush and search for any caves or caverns which may be nearby. The second team is assigned the duty of venturing southwards and getting a better understanding of the coastlines nearby, weighing the options of potential areas to set up forward operating bases and campsites, much like the first team they navigate during the night and will climb the top of the cliff to the left of where they will stop, enabling further observation of the area. Any and all members sighted from the second and first must retreat to the main Imperial force to maintain safe passage. The third team has the most important task: identifying the enemy. During the late hours of the evening they will take off, headed to their route as they will track up and then eastwards. Once within the woodlands they will conceal themselves with mud, leaves, and anything else they happen to require in order to blend in and to hide their scent. From their position they will observe the enemy’s naval forces and activity near the ports, as well as monitor how many exit and enter- an attempt to gather an official count. They will ensure that any and all enemy siege equipment or materials are accounted for- the ones which are visible at least- and that a better estimate for the ‘griffon riders’ can be provided back at the main forces. These men are the fastest of the three teams, as well as the smallest in comparison to furthermore conceal their identity. They stay a total of two days, moving about and hiding their tracks. A small marksmen group is dispatched from the Autarch, carrying a small canoe-like craft, overland. They naval team will be putting in to the north of Cyrilsburg after a dispatch from the greater east, during the late hours of the evening. By the time they have reached the shores near Cyrilsburg, it will be well into the day by this time. This boat is small, very low to the water, and will possess no lights, and be covered in black oil-cloth. From the boat, a team of four who possess excellent vision, (think marksmen, etc.) would perform scouting activities with eyeglass and other equipment carried with them. This group will trace currents, wind patterns, ship locations, tide fallow, water depth, and ascertain the patrol times of troops upon the exterior walls. With the greater assistance of the Imperial forces, the battle was thankfully won and casualties were not numbering in the legions. Divines have surely blessed us. Casualties: Two out of the twelve. We know not if they have returned or if they have joined their Gods in battle. Rest their souls upon the pyre and let the ash take them anew. Information found: They favored running and utilized tunnels. The group possessed a following of a heretic God, a shrine found beneath their fortress in an underground alcove. No other member of this group knows any information beyond what they are informed to collect. Expendable, sure, but they were Avchirran nonetheless. A warden went into a blood rage, killing three and wounding four more heavily. He was patched up after the battle to our medics best ability. Anything worth of note is to be jotted down, and confrontation with any enemy forces is preferably avoided. Their primary objective is to not be spotted at any cost- and if they did, die trying.
