The Thairic Phoenix; Seed Ilmyumier of Csarathaire, imprinted on the back or chest

Seed Csarathaire

“We are their hammer,

We are the tip of their spear,

We are the bane of their foes,

We are their fire incarnate.”

Fire and warmth, war and blood. These the myriad fuels which drive the Csarathaires forward. They are a clan of warrior priests, spreading their version of the faith via combat and zealotry, a faith of dualisms and brutality, yet also warmth and compassion. Light and darkness, warmth and cold, fire and ice, strength and weakness. Fire is the universal symbol of the seed Csarathaire closely followed by the Phoenix, which is considered to be a divine and sacred being to any in the clan who are aware of its history.

The Exodus

The children of Malin have moved from realm to realm throughout their existence, consistently seeking salvation and prosperity in new lands. A hundred and thousand years in the past, one of these voyages went catastrophically wrong. It is not know what exactly happened, whether a storm or a deliberate separation or abandonment, but whatever the case the ancestors of seed Csarathaire became hopelessly lost. Travelling through a bitterly cold tundra and icily mountainous landscape, the clan began to die quickly from the biting frost and hunger, for it seemed as though the wastes would never end. In their final hour when it seemed as though all in the clan would leave their bones in that terrible place, salvation came to them. Behind two mountain peaks in the path of the group, two blazing suns did rise from the dark abyss; revealing two massive phoenixes. The Aspects had come to save their children. Warmth and life flowed into the Thairic survivors, banishing the gnawing darkness and cold which had eaten at their husbands, brothers, wives, sisters and children. These benevolent guardians guided the Csarathaire progenitors for the rest of their journey and ensured their safety, before fading into the heavens as the ice and snow receded into the background. In gratitude, the Csarathaire survivors pledged that no sacrifice for the aspects would ever be enough to repay what they had done.

The scions of the Csarathaire seed may engage in combat however they wish; for it is more important that a fighter is comfortable with their style, however there is a distinctly Thairic style of fighting during battle. Before two battle lines meet, the Csarathaires; armoured in heavy plate and armed with light javelins will first throw this missiles at the enemy, hopefully weakening them before contact. Then, they withdraw a melee weapon of their choice; usually an elegant spear or a sword depending on the situation. During engagements in which massed enemy archery fire seems likely, a large metal shield will be used both for melee offence and defence against the missiles. Without fear and desiring to sacrifice above all else, they thrust against the foe as heavy infantry, engaging in combat for as long as they can grinding them down, always being the last unit to withdraw if such a maneuver is necessary.
