Brief History Overview

The Tathvirs are an ancient bloodline stemmed from the founder, Amara Tathvir, one of the first Mali’fenn. During her time alive, she led the Tathvirs into a prosperous age, fighting alongside them through the years. Following Amara’s passing, the Tathvirs saw many individuals step up to take her position as head of the family. These individuals would quickly become known as bloodline heads. Over the span of many generations, Tathvirs have come and gone, with many scattering in the wind, destined for cities far beyond their own. Now, under the watch of a new bloodline head, the Tathvirs have begun the effort to regather their kin amongst the people of the Princedom.

Physically-Dominant Features

An average Tathvir ranges from 5’5” to 6’ tall, setting them on the shorter side for snow elves. Naturally, they possess lean, athletic builds that are maintained through constant exercise. They commonly have straight, silver locks accompanied by turquoise eyes ringed in a light gold which serves as a giveaway towards their identity. Most Tathvirs are swift-footed and agile, making them well known for their skill as scouts.

Attitude

Unlike the other Mali’fenn bloodlines, the Tathvirs are typically humorous and carefree, always looking towards the best in life, though this typically leads others to misinterpret them as reckless or childish. Despite their relaxed nature, Tathvirs are raised with the ideology of being defensive rather than offensive and protective of their own. They will, however, finish a fight that has been started. On the discussion of races, many Tathvirs are impartial, not holding ill will for many of them but not necessarily inviting either. In past years, many Tathvirs tried to mate primarily with other Mali’fenn, but the Tathvirs have become much more lax with their views on marriage in recent years.

Proficiencies and Specialties

This bloodline is famous for their interest in herbalism and apothecy. They provide their knowledge of medicinal practices towards those in need and are always busy researching new antidotes. Some Tathvirs take a different path, seeking interest in the performing or fine arts. In the past, they have been famous for their refined artists and talented performers. Their contributions towards the Bilok’thuln leans towards alchemy, relating towards their curious and creative nature.

In the sense that the Tathvirs are very lithe and agile people, they make great scouts in the Ivae’fenn. They always wear lightweight armor, or no armor at all, and use knives and short swords as their primary weapon, alongside the bow - making them some of the Princedom’s finest archers.

Many a Tathvir are also known for their capabilities regarding healing. As such, the bloodline manor is typically located in the same building as the local clinic, allowing the healers of Fenn to easily bring assistance to those in need.

Ancestral Relics

Sword of Skalaer

This grey-tinted blade sits at roughly 3’ long, connected to the leather-wrapped handle through a silver crossguard. The crossguard is decorated to resemble the outspread wings of an eagle. While the blade bears many scuffs and scratches from its years of service, its edges are still sharpened and well-kept. This blade has been passed through generations of the bloodline, always being gifted to the strongest Tathvir. The wielder of the blade is tasked with defending the bloodline from any threats that they may face.

Ring of Skalaer

A faint glow resonates from this silver ring when it’s held in light. The ring itself depicts a small wyrm wrapping itself around the wearer’s finger before consuming its own tail. This elegant relic has been passed down from generation to generation, always being worn by the eldest Tathvir.

Wax Otter Seal

The wax otter seal is a small stamp decorated with an otter inside of a small wooden box. Alongside the stamp sits a small jar of red wax. The head of the Tathvir bloodline will typically use these tools to mark official documents and seal letters.

Quill of the Tathvirs

This quill is devised of two components: the stem and the feather. The feather is interchangeable, and as such, the owner of the quill can pick a feather that represents their personality. The feather, once picked, is attached to a copper stem, which has a small carving of an otter and the name “Tathvir” underneath it. The quill is gifted to the right hand of the bloodline and is typically used to write up reports and documents.

Bloodline Positions

Bloodline Head

A Tathvir bloodline head is chosen by appointment by the previous bloodline head. The head of the Tathvirs is expected to uphold the family by following cultural traditions and encouraging others to do the same. They must also oversee most family activity and maintain the family tree, seeking out lost members. Their duty is to lead the bloodline into a new age of prosperity.

Right Hand

The right hand is appointed by the acting bloodline head. The right hand acts as an extension of the bloodline head as well as an advisor. Their duties are almost identical, focusing primarily on maintaining the tree as well as assisting with any other projects the head asks for their assistance with.
