To Address the Concerns of Our ‘Thill Allies

Blessed Sohaer Dimaethor Visaj of the Silver State of Haelun’or

I expected that upon receiving your letter, I would be greeted with a message that the ‘Thill of Haelun’or had realized the errors in their ways and had withdrawn the advisory issued by the Silver State for the betterment of our relations. It is with much disappointment that I come to realize that rather than bringing resolution to a pointless conflict between our peoples that is grounded in simple misunderstanding and cultural differences, the Silver State has instead doubled down on their misguidance and continues to be led astray.

For such an educated race of Mali that spends so much of their lives recording their knowledge into books so that it may be preserved throughout centuries of your flourishing state, it is surprising that they have found themselves unable to read the laws that govern the Forest Realm of Irrinor. For if one was to turn their sight to the document and read the many lines of text, they would realize that there is no official edict that state the age of adulthood for the Mali’ame of Irrinor.

Rather, as expressed in my last letter, this is simply a cultural shift as we shrug off the ways of old and advance our people forwards. The demands of respect and recognition for our younger Mali to be regarded as equals is not called for those of us who have walked this world for the past couple of centuries. Rather, these calls for change come from those young Mali who assumes positions of leadership and guides their people. By those who rise to the challenge when presented to the brutal realities of this world. Such as the Lioness of the Tresery seed who at the young age of twenty-five carries on the legacy of her father and nurtures her people with a skilled hand.

My dearly beloved Sohaer of the Silver State, I implore you to see the errors of your way and correct the mistakes of your people.

The Forest Realm of Irrinor has many fine women that reside within the borders of our great realm and our moral compasses remain unskewed. From a young age, our peoples are taught to respect and think for themselves. They do not foolishly partake in sharing a bed with those who would seek to take advantage of them and hold themselves to high standards. They do not require the state to coddle them, to tell them what they can and cannot do.

Perhaps this is different in your great Silver State. That your citizens require the state to protect their purity from those that would seek to defile it. That your elder Mali has little regard for the age differences.

This is deeply troubling and immense concern is felt by myself for you and the purity of your people. That perhaps your state is home to many predatory Mali that seeks to prey on the young and naive that fill your city as they busy themselves reading the endless books in your collections rather than learning anything practical for their survival.

It is often thought that when a person accuses their spouse of infidelity, that they are often the ones engaging in such behaviour. They project the wrongs that they commit to their innocent partners for an unknown reason and lash out at them in a hostile manner. When confronted with such, they often double down on such a statement and rebuttal the innocent party with the announcement that they are the ones that are committing such heinous acts despite the mutual acknowledgement that the wronged party remains innocent of what is being brought forward.

My pale cousin. I urge quick action on your part to root out this evil that plagues the Silver City. To conduct a series of searches and investigations into your people and cast out those who prey on the immature of your city from your tall stone walls. Send them into the forests that surround your great city so they might perish and their remains nurture the nature that grows there. That some good may come from these beings of evil.

Once again we reject the suggestions from our allies in the Silver City that seek to infringe upon our sovereignty with such demands and do so kindly request that they withdraw the advisory issued by their state.

Signed,

Lyemar Aureon, Blessed Descendant of Elenwë, High Chieftain of the Forest Realm of Irrinor, Sovereign of the Mali’ame,  Chieftain of the Aureon Seed, Brother Red Panda, Priest of the El’Narnsae’ame.
