A Seed, sometimes also referred to as a Clan, is a tribe of  Irrinite Elves, loosely defined by its worship of the Aspects & Mani, and practice of old traditions that go back to elven antiquity- the Era of the Seeds.  Many wood elves look upon this period of history as an ideal era. It was during this time that the mali’ame were all unianimously devoted to the Aspects. Due to their nomadic lifestyle, the ancient wood elves of the various Seeds knew perfectly how to live in harmony with nature, something modern wood elves are still striving to do to this day.

Traditionally Seeds have been mainly nomadic, roaming the mountains, deep forests and coasts of the ancient world. In the modern era, the Seeds are mostly sedentary and live in the Princedom of Irrinor. Most clans welcome in new members, either through adoption or trials, however many Seeds are the lineal successors or direct continuations of bloodlines, and hereditary continuation of the ancient Clans.

To join a Seed is to partake in the great cultural revival in the eyes of many mali’ame. After centuries of assimilation, destruction, oppression and suffering through the lands of Asulon, Anthos, and Athera, the wood elves lost most of their culture and their religion. Lacking in any cultural identity, the mali’ame clung to the stories of the old Seeds and their traditions and sought to bring them into the modern era. From the ashes Irrinor was born, a home to those who wished to preserve the traditions of old and to restore the Seeds to their former glory.

Most of the Seeds that exist in the modern era are the successors to these old seeds. Almost all Cheiftains can trace their bloodlines back thousands of years and link them to the various old tribes which roamed the Aegisian forests. This is a point of pride for both the brown-skinned Irrinite Seeds, and the pale Alder clans, both of whom proudly emulate many of the old traditions and customs their nomadic ancient ancestors lived by.

Ilmyumier - Tribal Inking

Seeds often lived in isolation, and thus their traditions and lifestyles could diverge vastly. However, one ritual that remained universal among all seeds was the ilmyumier- the tribal tattoo.

Each Seed bares its own tribal tattoo with its own unique colour, shape and location on the body. In ancient times they served to identify a mali’ame to whichever tribe he or she belonged to. In the modern era, the practice of tattooing all adult members of a Seed is a continued tradition. The ilmyumier is iconic to seed culture.

Current Seeds of Irrinor

Many of the modern Seeds can trace their bloodlines back to the ancient ones. However, nowadays they are no longer nomadic. They are identified by their worship of the Aspects, the markings on their skin, and their respective traditions that they have preserved over the centuries. They live in the Wood Elven sanctuary of Irrinor and its surrounding lands.

Sovereign Seed of Aureon

Seed Chieftain: High Prince Lyemar Aureon (Kaelan__) & High Princess Leilani Aureon (xburdenx)

Seed Culture: The Aureon are among the most skilled in the ancient wood elven craft of ame’lie, cultivating specialty timbers. Particularly, Aureon craftsmen have perfected the art of tempering Ikurnamon, a wood that, when prepared right, can be made as hard as steel.

While primarily craftsmen, the Aureons are prideful in their history of warriors and druids. Many Aureons have been zealous warriors of the Aspects and the Mali'ame.

Seed History: The Aureon peoples lived for centuries under the careful watch of their Chieftess and Seed Mother Elenwë during the time of Malin. Regarded as the favourite of Malin, it was Elenwë who was bestowed Malin's own spear to guide her people.

Upon Malin's disappearance, it was Elenwë who instructed her kinsmen to settle upon the site and await his return. In a time when most Seeds were nomadic, they lived in permanent settlements, cultivating Ame’lie and specifically bred trees that could produce bark as hard as iron.

Elenwë would later be slain in combat with the Uruks. With the death of their Seed Mother and Chieftess who had led them for centuries, the Aureon Seed would decline until the last few remaining members of the clan would abandon their original settlement.

When the calls came centuries later to return to our roots, to remember and rebuild our seeds... It was the Aureons who were among the first to answer this call and push the Mali'ame into the modern era. They strove to bring back the life the forest sustained them with and to this day, continue to do so.

For most the mali’ame’s history, the Arvellon remained unknown yet ever observant until their recent resurgence.

The colors of the Seed show each of the values it stands for. Gold for Pride, Orange for Courage, Brown for Leadership.

Seed History:  The history of the Seed is rich in both Royalty and Prowess. It extends back to ancient times when the original leader Lerical took his Seed to settle within the harsh savannah region. It was there when the story of the Great Lion Spirit Mahae was born. The story begins with a Tresery Child taken to where it leads to the Seed’s hunters tracking down the horrid beast. As the clash occurred and the hunters were victorious, it was shown that the Lion killed as blighted to the point of no return which caused its crazed like behavior. Mahae then appeared before them and blessed the bloodline with Courage and Pride for the deed they did that day. Since then, the Seed had come and gone up til even several centuries alone with Leric Tresery first appearing to carry on the bloodline. His son Tristin followed afterwards to reclaim the Seed within the mali’ame culture, rising up to become High Prince and the first King since that of Malin. The Seed from then on becoming Royalty and it now falls to his cousin Kalius Tresery to carry on their legacy and lineage.

Often taking a leading role in promoting the 'ame culture and religion and being on the forefront of its defence, sometimes becoming leaders of the 'ame should an individual from the clan rise.

Seed History: The exact origin of Clan Caerme’onn remains a mystery even to those within the Clan itself, it is however believed to predate the existence of the Mali’ame people and started in the Kingdom of Malin during the time of its namesakes rule. During the collapse of the Kingdom of Malin the Elves of Caerme’onn left on an exodus to the lands of Aeldin adopting many of the customs of their racial cousins in Aeldin including some linguistics. Returning to Aegis centuries later to rejoin the now Mali’ame in the Shining Princedom of Malinor during the waning days of the continent. They played very little in the role of the Princedom, simply staying out of politics and the forefront of the issues of the time.

After the collapse of the continent of Aegis and the mass exodus of not only the Mali but all descendant races in a cycle that is seemingly endless the Caerme’onn have been present in the rise and fall of many Elven nations. Eventually once more returning to the forefront of Elven politics, having maintained the old ways for centuries with renewed vigour they would spread the faith of the Aspects and Mani among the Mali’ame and begin reviving old customs dating back to the Kingdom of Malin. At the head of this was the first Chieftain of the Caerme’onn who took upon said role, Artimec Caerme’onn the Grandfather of the renaissance for the Mali’ame.

Throughout these years the numbers within the Seed would grow, many famous and perhaps infamous would bear the Ilmyumier of Amaethon. Valor the Oracle of the Naelurir, the Elvenking Abelas Sa’roir Caerme’onn and the Usurper Aelin Vel’seda of Caerme’onn. Many leaders have risen from the Seed along with those who simply bring their hard work and dedication for the Mali’ame people, faith and culture. Now the Seed resides in the Forest Realm of Irrinor with its current Chieftains being one of the founders and first Prince of Irrinor before abdicating to focus on the Caerme’onn once more.

Taliame’onn

Seed Chieftain: Skylar Taliame'onn (LaffenOutLoud)

Seed Culture: The patrons of the Taliame'onn are Kholibrii and Kwakwani. Main values of the Seed revolve around beauty, vibrancy, color and art. A Taliame'onn sees everything as a canvas awaiting to be decorated, including every inch of their own bodies. From a very young age, children are taught to utilize colorful pigments to paint both themselves and many surfaces with flamboyant works of art. They are significantly driven towards self-beauty, known to spend an incredible amount of time on their hygiene, bright makeup, fancy hairstyles and flattering outfits.

Ritual and religion is key to the daily life of a Taliame'onn. A Seed member who does not know Tiva is unheard of, most children being taught Tiva before common. It is common to wear several wreaths upon oneself as well as for home decoration. Taliame'onn worship to the Aspects and Mani is often, composed of fluid and sensual dancing, art, primal instruments, candles, incense, stones, flowers and trinkets.

Seed History: The beginnings of the Seed begin towards the end of the nomadic period in 'ame history, with a forbidden friendship in the woods between an 'ame male and 'aheral female. The young woman was captivated by the culture she was taught, including Tiva - something she fell in love with, being an apprentice florist. He told her tales of his gods, painted her with natural pigments and taught her how bright, colorful and joyous the forest could be. She fell in love with these beliefs and decided to spread them to her people, a tragic event where they rejected and belittled her for believing in such "fairytales" and being attracted to such impure things. This forced her to leave her people, moving in with the boy from before - Starting a family after many years, basking in the colorful and primal things her old people would once scoff at.
