As the political landscape of the Holy Oren Empire begins to develop towards partisanship that has accumulated into a polarization between two parties; the War Office has determined the necessity for the state function of a professional military to remain impartial. This concept is wholly important to the safe conduct of Imperial liberties of each citizen and makes an effort to prevent situations that would prove catastrophic otherwise. The Imperial State Army is beholden to the Emperor and it is charged with protecting each and every citizen of the Empire.

Effective immediately, the following policies will apply to all soldiers of the ISA as well as any agent of the War Office.

Political Abstainment Policies

  1. The Imperial State Army shall make no endorsement favoring any one person or any one organization in regards to political ideologies.
  1. The Imperial State Army shall not compel its personnel to adopt the ideologies of civilian political parties nor attempt to influence exercises of Imperial rights, such as voting.
  1. Imperial State Army owned or operated facilities shall not be host to political rallies or be used as platforms for presenting ideological opinions.
  1. Soldiers of the Imperial State Army shall not publicly identify with any one political entity, nor reference their military membership in private events while serving in an active capacity.
  1. Soldiers are not permitted to campaign for any type of ideology while on duty, nor hold any position that works in the public eye while serving in the Imperial State Army. If soldiers fail to meet military standards or are derelict of duty as a result of ideological activities, they meet grounds for immediate discharge.
  1. All ideas, opinions, sentiments, etc. of an individual serving in the Imperial State Army are not representative of the actual stance of the Imperial State Army. Any statement made claiming to represent the feelings of Imperial soldiers that does not come from official channels- the War Office or the Fieldmarshal- is not authorized and shall not be considered as fact.
  1. Soldiers, past and present, may not wear military uniforms, display military honors, or make use of military imagery in any way when working in support of a political party.
  1. If found in violation of any of the above policies, a soldier may be immediately discharged from the Imperial State Army or War Office general staff.
