In stark contrast to the refined society we are all greatly blessed to be contemporary with, the courtiers of the Novellen call for an occurrence in which etiquette is well-nigh disintegrated in its entirety for just one eve.

 

We, as Orenians, are on the very heels of victory over a lengthy, monotonous conflict, and surely all of us are afforded a day of boisterous, unbridled revelry. However, please do practice at least the base level of self-restraint and propriety, seeing as you will be within the halls of His Imperial Majesty’s residence. Additionally, the hosts bid those who wish to attend to outfit themselves in garbs reminiscent of the 14th-16th centuries.

 

TIMETABLE

  I. Banquet of the Wildwood

To ring in festivities, we begin with a feast comprising of wild game and produce gleaned from the Empire’s forests, teeming with ravin ripe for the reaping, as well as libation sourced from the Empire’s finest distilleries.

 

  II. Foil Work Folly

Simultaneously, competing for a sum of 1000 mina, valiant gents and brave women of the Empire are encouraged to show their dexterity in the art of swordplay in this match of fencing. 

 

  III. Greenhew Fisticuffs

In addition to fencing, several bouts of fisticuffs will be held in a similar fashion, with a 1000 mina prize for the victor.

 

  IV. The Thicket’s Guise

Guests of any constitution are encouraged to adorn themselves in the stylings of the 14th through 16th centuries, characterized by the high-waisted gamurra, wimple and corresponding veil, doublets, pourpoints, and breeches of yore. The wildwood primarily influences the theme, and thus corresponding motifs are expected. 

 

  V. Waltz of the Woodwoses

As gaieties come to a close, merrymakers are encouraged to pair off and enjoy the lush purlieu of the Novellen gardens in a moonlight march, accompanied by bards and minstrels crooning lightly under the palatial thicket. 

 

If one seeks to take up arms against the guests

Of Novellen, they will be swiftly dealt with.

All citizens and peoples are invited, save

For those of the enemy states of

The Holy Orenian Empire.

Weapons and foul play will not be tolerated.
