Silvyr Uradir raises himself up in the private room of the Clinic in which he was resting from his burns and other wounds. Mustering enough strength, he reached into his pocket to grab an ink pen, along with the book he had used during the battle to write with. With great haste, he started etching his memories into the book. His fingers bled due to the cracking of his burns, however this did not dampen the pace in which he wrote. This continued deep on into the night, the sun even rose before he finished his extensive documented recollection of the awful encounter. A few days later, after recovering to almost full, the golden haired elf stood up from the bed and walked out into the square, ripping the pages out of the book and posting them on the bulletin board for all to see.

Talar’siol and the Sillumir mentioned that they spotted a mammoth deep in the mountains. They returned to the city for reinforcements, and led us to said location. The journey was long and arduous, but when we arrived the first thing that was immediately noticed was a strange, deformed humanoid being hunched over a seemingly dead maiden. The figure’s claws buried deep into the maiden’s back, as if the poor seemingly human dead woman was now a puppet.  Another figure, who looked similar in a grotesque way, was watching some meat burn over the campfire. Apparently, they hadn’t noticed us. By looking out, I spotted two more figures. One very large, much larger than the rest. Probably standing at closer to three meters. The other almost Uruk like, but much more hideous, standing at around a little over two meters. Before we could even figure out what was going on down at the makeshift camp for these beasts, we heard the screams of Maeve Elibar’acal, it was as if she was swallowed whole by the earth itself. We could only hear her suffering from under the heavy rocks. Shortly thereafter, the Sillumir made their march down the hill, while the rest did their very best to figure out how to save the Elibar’acal trapped under the earth. As the brave fighters engaged the first enemy, who seemed to have recently killed a bewildered maiden, the one known as Eredael was also swallowed whole by the earth. Realizing the earth was something to avoid, I climbed up a post not only to save myself, but to get a better view of the encounter. The Sillumir at this point were at blade ends with the abominations that occupied the camp, and more were trying to figure out how to deal with those who had been swallowed by the creatures under the rocks. The Kharajyr known as Ri’Haskir’Kul took it upon himself to fight one of the stronger, fire based monsters. The Uruk-like creature and him were even in strength, at least it seemed that way when the fight started. Using primarily fire-based attacks, and a large scythe, the Kharajyr was able to block most of the damage with his large shield. Hearing Eredael scream, I decided to leap from the post I was standing on and go save him if I was able to. However, when I found the hole that led to him, the beast jumped out from it yelling an evil laugh. It slashed at me, but I jumped back down the hill with nothing but a deep cut on my forearm. In the meantime, Muriel and Anethra Uradir were firing various spells at the creatures down below, and Talar’siol and Celiasil Uradir engaged in sword combat with the same figures. The rest of the Sillumir rallied beside Talar’siol and Celiasil, while the mages stayed on the hill.

When I came to, I noticed Muriel was gone from his spot. And nowhere to be seen. Shortly thereafter Anethra started clawing at the ground next to her, making me realize what had happened to Muriel. He was taken by the monster who burrowed under the dirt and rock. Although my arm was bleeding, I found it imperative to save Muriel. So with Anethra I dug in the spot with her, until eventually a small opening was created, enough for our bodies to slip though. I made my way in with a brave ‘thill who I never caught the name of. We traveled a short distance through the small cave, but were cut off by a sudden rock bulging out of the side of the burrow, unable to crawl through I started trying to pry it loose to no avail. Before I knew it, the monster chomped through the dirt and rock, and cast a spell on us. My memory faded at this point, and what acts I had committed under the influence of the spell I am unaware of. I woke up hours later in the clinic with first degree burns covering my body, and small cuts and bruises too. The wound on my forearm was quarterized. Hours later, the rest of the Mali’thill warriors and medics returned. But their numbers were not the same as when we all left together. The first thing Anethra said to me was that Talar’siol had died in battle. Celiasil collapsed onto the ground and got treated for blood in his lungs among other injuries. Muriel was fine, though exhausted with his arm covered in some kind of ichor. I was filled in just a bit, and I suppose the end of the battle drew nearer just after I was taken away. With only one abomination left to fight. It was taken down promptly, and with great energy and strength from my fellow Mali’thill.

The Okarir’tir, Celiasil Uradir proved himself to the Sillumiran. He withstood the battle for the entirety of it. Many of his soldiers collapsed, including Talar’siol, but he stood tall and battled on for hours. After the final beast was slain, the people of Haelun’or returned home, brutally wounded and mentally scarred. Many were limping, and most had bandages of some kind wrapped around them. It was clear that none of us were prepared for the demonic encounter, this being proved by the overflow of the clinic. There was just enough medically trained professionals to care for them all, this included Ivoriel Elibar’acal, Dele Seregon, and Maeve Elibar’acal (after returning from the Cloud Temple), Nelgauth Maehr’tehral, Daerine Elibar’acal, Astenia Loralynn, and Lorelei Ill'nir. These medical professionals and apprentices worked around the clock to ensure the casualties were taken care of, luckily under their care none died. However, Alessa Callistee was far too injured to save by the time she arrived. The battle was filled with terror, grief, sorrow, and many more emotions for every Mali’thill who was involved. There seemed to be no end, but alas it did. With many casualties, broken hearts, and bitter ‘thill, returning home was not sweet. Infact, many regret not being able to do more, and some experience post traumatic stress. However, some of these afflictions are sure to be cared for as time goes on by Dele Seregon and her apprentices. Along with the Talonnii of each who suffer from such medical trauma. I will conclude this, by saying the city fought valiantly. We did everything in our power, and not one single person was a coward. We knew our odds were bad, in fact it was apparent that we would lose halfway into the battle. Thankfully we were helped by some other non-mali’thill, who were able to turn the tides of the battle in our last hour. The tragic loss of Talar’siol Uradir, Alessa Callistee, and Maeve Elibar’acal will never be forgotten. The Sillumir suffered a heavy blow, but it was one that will soon be repaired. Both in the hearts and minds of our protectors. The city and it’s people (including me) have seen strange abnormalties in the night sky recently. At first we had concluded it was a mere meteor passing by, but eventually the color trails grew brighter and the movement became erratic and unlike anything falling into the atmosphere. Muriel Uradir made the educated guess that it was Arcane related, and it is now believed that this and the monsters that were spotted are somehow related. More information will be documented as it comes to me, but for now there is nothing more to say. Our hearts and thoughts go out to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for us.

–

Almost a full fortnight after the devastating encounter, the clinic within elcihi’thilln bursted with activity; the bodies of Mali’Thill Sillumiran, citizens, children, and even Valah alike filled the beds of the two-story building, their mutual groans of pain and agony invading the tranquility found and so regularly enjoyed by all within the Silver Walls. The gates to the Silver City stood barred, and on its parapets stood vigilant, if not slightly shaken Sillumiran, whose eyes and minds remained clouded by the horrors they only so recently endured.

--

This grim and invasive silence would be interrupted by the dull resonating clang of iron meeting stone, successively followed by a loud scraping noise and the clamorous echo of an Elf in muddied and bloodied mail plate collapsing lifelessly to the ground. Before the iron gates of Haelun’or laid the battered and broken body of Talar’siol, his breastplate inexplicably caved in by force and his bloodied Sillumiran spear etched in Silver only a short distance away from his twitching hand. The youthful ‘Thill stared stiffly towards the sky, the iris of his right eye distorted into a milky white by cause of a jagged and revolting scar of alien origin running deeply and vertically through it. From the dry and cracked lips of the Tahorren would be uttered a single word – “Help.”
