A proud family, the line of Sarkozy descended from Saint Joren of Paradisius, son of Horen himself. Since then, his descendants have served mankind for nearly three centuries. Historically, the line of Sarkozy have prestigiously ruled as Emperors, fought as soldiers and brought glory to the Empire.

HISTORY:

The history of the Sarkozy family is split into two sects: The Ancient and the Modern. The reasoning for the split is simple: The line of Sarkozy felt into a literary dark age, where minimal history was recorded and thus was lost. A certain amount was able to be salvaged, which will be recorded as ‘Modern History’.

❂ The Modern:

Born on the 11th of the Horen’s Calling, 1741, Franz Nikolai served the Empire well as a soldier, statesman and Sarkozy. Franz rose the ranks to become Vice Chancellor under Jonah Stahl-Elendil in the Josephite party. Having a fruitful career, his wife Marie Rosieres gave birth to Franz’ firstborn son, Tobias.

 

Born on 10th of Malin’s Welcome, 1776, Tobias was a troublesome child. He spent most of his time around soldiers and as such grew a strong bond to religion. Joining the clergy, Father Tobias served as a dutiful servant to God for many years. Afterwards he retired from the faith to serve as an assistant to the settlement of New Esbec. He was later made Magistrate for his deeds there. He aided in the infrastructure of settlements of the Empire, and served the army well becoming a 1st Lieutenant within the 5th Brigade. For these acts Tobias was knighted by His Imperal Majesty John VIII into the Order of Merit. Tobias proudly serves the empire to this day, and works hard to ensure that he and his family are successful in all of their endeavors.

 

Now Providence is home to all of Tobias’ offspring; such being his oldest son Holy Sir Edwin, Edwin’s twin Helena Eleanor de Sarkozy, Octavia de Sarkozy, Adrian de Sarkozy, Franz Oswald de Sarkozy, Oskar de Sarkozy and Elizabeth de Sarkozy.

CULTURE:

The Sarkozies are no ordinary Imperial household. While proper, with a certain enjoyment of fashion and their appearance; they are stoic, stubborn and hard-headed. With their black and red garments, they provide an interesting backdrop to the courts’ colorful collection of attire. Holding a long history of servitude to the Empire, that being political, military or even theological, they bear a name to be remembered. 

 

Attire:

 

Black, white and red. These are their colors and they host pride in donning them. Many Sarkozy could be found working as a tailor or even a blacksmith; donning their darkened attire proudly. For a de Sarkozy, their outerly appearance is a reflection of their identity.

 

Religion:

The Sarkozies are proud Canonists, with many of them having a history in the church. They value the Church’s ideals greatly, and some would even give their lives to defend such. 

 

Combat:

Proud warriors, the de Sarkozy family have a long history in the Imperial State Army and even before; affectionately nicknamed ‘The Fighting Sarkozies’ by some. They pride themselves on their skill to fight.

 

Knighthood:

Starting with Holy Sir Edwin Henry de Sarkozy, every firstborn son of the Sarkozy line will at the age of 14 join the Supreme Order of Exalted Owyn as an Armiger, squire under a Knight until he himself is Knighted by the High Pontiff. 

 

The Quarterly Party:

Upon reaching the age of 25, the de Sarkozy would celebrate such with a great party and tourney. All their childhood friends would be gathered to joust and duel, or drink and feast. This is a great honor for the Sarkozy folk, for their combative professions tend to leave them in the grave before 25.

 

Heirlooms:

Wielded by the firstborn son of the current Sarkozy family, this saber was commissioned by Sir Tobias de Sarkozy and given to his son Holy Sir Edwin Henry de Sarkozy, to pass down the line and always remain in the family. 

 

The proud wig of Franz Nikolai. Not much is to be said about the piece of clothing, except that it brings pride to the Sarkozies and proves their fashionable ways of life. 

 

A gift from Joseph d’Azor, this ring was owned by Helena de Sarkozy. It is the embodiment of the close bond between the d’Azor and de Sarkozy house, of which was formed by Ledicort d’Azor and Franz Nikolai. Truly, a great piece of jewelry.
