Flames and smoke billowed across the entire Alpine Region...
The Imperial Elves of the Greater Alpine saw the threat to their woodlands, and the need to answer the pleas of their fellow citizens as the smoke, flame, and ash billowed in the distance from the nearby town of New Esbec. Minuvas was personal friends with many Sarkozy’s who had lived in the town, not least Holy Sir Edwin De Sarkozy and Sir Tobias Sarkozy.

The next few Saints Days the Elves worked ceaselessly to quench the flames without luck, though they prevented it from spreading further into the Alpine - protecting what they could. The ash and smoke in the wastes of the city…..devastation all that remained of the event.

The party discusses its findings

A mission assigned….
Unsatisfied that such a threat should lurk so close within Imperial Borders, and so near their own homes, the Scion of House Melphestaus asked some Imperial Elves to investigate New Esbec, learn what they could of the incident and report their findings….

Headed by the ker, Aver’wyn Livarai De Melphestaus, the party of Imperial Elves would find a city completely hollowed out. Upon further investigation, the wailing and howling of a New Esbec resident - found trapped beneath a collapsed wooden beam. His life was short lived, grateful that his neighbors had come to give him some comfort before his ultimate death. He recounted what little he could. The swiftness of the attack, the devastation of the flames, and the inability for the fire to be quelled.

The simple people of New Esbec stood no chance at the slaughter. The work was that of the Dragon Worshippers and their kin. Their heretical signs preaching of their Dragon deity, and their threats against the sons of Horen found about the city.

A devilish rogue attempts to ambush the party

Like moths to a flame….

New Esbec became an attractive spot for a set of bandits and rogues, settling in the hollowed out shell of the city. Taking what they could from the dead bodies, and the destroyed homes. How desperate one must be to make a thieves den of such destruction. Emerging in a group, they threatened the Elves and told them to be off - this was ‘their haul’.

The Imperial Elves were not to suffer such indignity to their Canonist neighbors, and fellow Imperial Citizens. Even if they were now dead, scattered and homeless - they were sure that their home would not be used to promote lawlessness in the wilderness. A final dignity afforded to their neighbors.

A confrontation with these bandits, after offering them an opportunity to depart in peace, resulted in a melee that ended both of the bandits’ lives. Law was re-asserted in the region; for now. Yet it came at the cost of more blood shed, it was never their intent to end more life here this day.

The bodies were given a proper canonist burial, and the Elves were left to wonder if this threat of Dragon Cultists at the fringes of the Imperial border would soon strike at its heart.

The Imperial Elves were unable to obtain any information about the safety of family friends, Sir Edwin or Sir Tobias De Sarkozy - unable to account for them in the flames.
