History of the family

Almaris

 

Upon his arrival to Almaris Jarad ventured around for a while before landing in the Holy Orenian Empire. Upon arriving he meet multiple people who would impact his life including George Maximillian, Vladrick Ruthern, Duncan Vuiller, and Sorise, his future wife. Through hard work and dedication, Jarad earned himself multiple positions in the government Including Head Clerk, Second Brigade Captain, and Head Solicitor.

 

Jarad and Sorise had three kids, Ember Munnel Heir of Munnel, Rose Munnel, and Felix Munnel the newest addition. Upon coming of the age of 15 Ember Munnel and Rose Munnel both joined the clerks and are working to become doctors in Oren to help people and save lives, studying under the guiding hand of Doctor Primrose Gendik. Felix Munnel being the youngest of the three is being cared for by his mother and father, learning the ropes of the family well receiving the best education they can give.

 

Having Been warded into the Vuillers before getting his peerage and splitting off. The Munnel Family under Jarad Munnel considers all members of the Vuiller as Close Family with Rev Vuiller and Diana Vuiller being his siblings. 

 

Following the War of the wigs' Sir Jarad Munnel would be named the Baron of Brighthill. Upon the sudden death of the Emperor and Empress the Brothers War was sparked and took off. Overcome by Greif the Baron would declare Neutrality and work to keep the city of providence alive. Upon the War's Conclusion the Baron and the Family Would be shunned for staying neutral sparking them to move out of oren.

 

Well, this family might be young their story is yet to be written.

 

Values, Practices and Traditions

 

Spirit of the Hunt

The Munnel Family are proud adventures and self-sufficient, Providing for their own. Every eight years the family will partake in a family hunt that doubles as a challenge, whoever can gather the most will be bestowed the title of “Jagdmeister” until the next hunt. 

 

Spirit of the Mother

All you have in life is your family ties, the Munnel Family is all too aware of this fact and family ties are considered sacred to them, allies are temporary but family is forever.

 

Spirit of the Bow 

From a young age, every Munnel learns to use a bow and crossbow to the point of mastery. This is the way of the family and the pride of it. These skills are put to the test each Hunt as well as during the Mayoridad Hunt. 

 

Spirit of the Father

Sometimes you must make sacrifices to save those you love, however. You should never forget yourself or your place, We shall not become the monsters we fight

 

Respekt vor dem Leben

The Munnel family is one that respects their roots, from a young age they are taught about nature, herbs, medicine, hunts, wilderness survival and above all. Nature in general, in order to be a hunter you must have respect for nature. For part of this, they will be expected to spend time in different environments. Hunting, fishing and camping.

 

Bindung von Fuchs 

Learning to care for others and work together is a key factor in life, for this reason, each child of the Munnel family is given their own pet fox to raise and care for. It is the hope in doing so that they will learn to respect life more and grow up healthier.

 

Mayoridad Hunt 

The Mayoridad Hunt is a special tradition of the Munnel family, at 18 they are expected to enter into a hunt armed only with a bow and a few arrows to kill a great beast. They must use the skills they have cultivated to outwit and outsmart their prey.

 

Forging of Steel

Each Munnel is expected to forge their sword, they will learn the skills of such from the Patriarch or Matriarch of the family.

 

Forging of Iron

Each Munnel is expected to forge the armor they will use to protect themselves and others. They will learn the skills of such from the Patriarch or Matriarch of the family.

 

Bright Future

One key part of a family is adoption, each addition is seen as a bright future and therefore takes up the last name of Bright. They are welcomed into the family as full members of the family in good standing. 

 

Den Lords

Den Lord are people who residence upon the lands of the Munnel's trusted by the Patriarch and Matriarch, they will gain all the rights and be allowed to partake in the Traditions of the house if they wish too, additionally they may sit in on family meetings and are to be treated as family.  

 

Of Fox and Eagle

The Munnels and the Vuiller have always been extremally close and Considered Each other Family. With Sir Jarad Munnel and Sir Rev Vuiller being Brothers. In the eyes of the Munnels the Vuiller are both Family and close allies.  Paper is temporary but Blood and Family is forever. 

 

The Foxes Feast

Once every Sixteen years, the Munnel family will meet to have a great feast, for this the Patriarch, Matriarch and Heir apparent much depart on the foxes hunt to gather food for the feast to which the rest of the family will cook, once everything is prepared the family will partake in one large celebration and feast dubbed ‘The Foxes Feast’.

 

The Light in the Dark

The Munnel Family will hunt those who hide in the dark and defend those they are loyal to. Rooting out evil and darkness where ever they can. This is another oath they must sware on the name of the founding father. They must take this oath after they have completed the Forging of steel.

Marriage is a wonderful thing in life, it comes when two people wish to spend the rest of their life together. In a traditional munnel marriage every member of the family will contribute to the marriage, be it sending invitations, helping set up the ceremony or after party or giving a present to the couple. For a marriage of any family member to be allowed, the couple must get permission from their respective parents.

Ashes to Ashes and Dust to Dust, one day we all must return to whence we came, well it is sad to lose a loved one we must still give them a proper burial. Firstly they will have a funeral in the religion of their worship, in the lack of such the family will get together and the head of the house will say a prayer. Afterwards, the body or ashes shall be taken to the family grave where they will rest for the rest of eternity.

 

The Sunlit Fox of Dawn

The Sunlit Fox of Dawn is an award given to both Munnels and Brights upon the completion of a great dead, proving themself worthy of their name and legacy. 

 

The Moonlit Fox of Dusk

The Moonlit Fox of Dusk is a medal given to the dead, both Munnels and Brights who have accomplished greatness in life and now have passed on.
