Alchemy Submissions

Alchemy Submissions are lore pieces that introduce a new alchemical item or potion to the server.

Alchemical Creations

When making an alchemical creation such as a potion, item, consumable, or anything between please consider a few things. Consider most importantly, it's theme and place on the server. Often, many submissions in the past have introduced five or six potions or items which, while following a theme, aren't really used or provide anything interesting other than powerful or versatile effects which give them strength. Consider too the limitations of alchemy, and the niche that your creation has. Avoid performing actions/abilities that other potions already accomplish, even if slightly different. Avoid performing actions/abilities performed by magic unless they make sense in the way they are performed, and are different enough from that magical ability to be considered thematic and not copying.

Please consider looking at the following pieces.
Alchemy Feat Lore
Alchemy I - Signs & Symbols
Alchemy II - Processes and Reagents
Alchemy III - Core Potions

Format

This format is meant to be used for Alchemy Submissions.

Thread Title

The thread title should be [Alchemy] - [Name]. For example, Alchemy - Cockatrice's Breath, or Lector Alchemy (In the case of alchemical packs, which again are discouraged, feel free to have a group name for all creations).

Potion Information

Follow this potion format.

Name (Common/Rare | Tier Required)

Please make sure to include if your alchemy is common (anyone may craft it) or rare (only those with the taught recipe), and what tier is required to craft.

Background/Description

Describe how your potion/craft was discovered and what purpose it serves. Add some theme and flavor to your lore.

Recipe

Base: Water, Aqua Vitae, or any other liquid or alchemical reagent which forms the basis of your craft.

Sign | Symbol xAMOUNT
(E.x. Earth | Slowness x3)

Consider what signs, symbols, and base make sense for your recipe. As well, make it cost appropriately, and be certain you are using sign-symbol combinations that exist and are available through ST-Signed herbs from the herb plugin.

Creation

Describe in a list format a step-by-step process of how you create this potion, and any effects or abnormal cautions one should be aware of in potioncraft. Please include identification, extraction, mixing, and any additional steps to take into your recipe creation. Be sure this is easily understood so that when emoted in game, others understand what is going on.

Effects

Describe the effects of your alchemical craft. This can be like an Acuity Potion, which heightens ones senses, or Smelling Salts which help wake up a user. Maybe this craft is akin to warforging and gives special aesthetic effects to what it is applied to, or like alteration alchemy where one can use it to change their appearance. Remember to no matter what, please be specific and detail all information without vagueness of your potion information.

Redlines

Describe the limitations and limits of your craft, and what is allowed/disallowed. Include if this is signed by ST or if anyone may player-sign their item.

Repeat (OPTIONAL)

Repeat the above section if you have more crafts to place within your lore. Remember the caution of the issue packs cause for lore-bloat and underuse. Skip this if you have no repeat crafts.

Further Alchemy (Optional, Variant)

Further Alchemy is defined as an alchemy lorepiece which does not fit the traditional format of simple crafts. Instead, this may create things like Automatons in Animii or the body-redefining mutations of Tawkin. Given the sheer creativity and variety of this lore format, please follow whatever other submission type is closest to what you are trying to write/achieve, and use hybrid formatting where necessary (E.x. parts of both Alchemy format and CA-Race Format.).

Citation Spoiler

You should have a spoiler at the bottom that includes links to any lore pieces that you referenced or based your lore submission off of.
