As the peoples of Petra settled their new home in the river valley building up their new capital city of Vallagne, starting to sow their small but narrow fields around it for food, it didn´t take them too long to find out that the valley was perfectly suited for growing grapes. the spaces were perhaps narrow but the constant flow of the river, the steep valley hills and a good amount of sunlight made it a perfect place to plant Vineyards! Today there are 14 of these Vineyards scattere around the Petran Valley around the Capital City of Vallagne, the FreePort of Chambery and both heir oppossing hills. Hence the Wine makers of Petra came together to draw up a map of all the vineyards in the valley, as well as starting a list of locally produced wines.

Aromas of Petra´s Vineyards :

Petran or Chambery “standard”  :

Wines from the vineyards located in Chambery are a healthy mix with both earthy and fruity flavors, simple general wines are produced here, wine for everyone or every occasion.

The Fruitful Wines :

The Fruitful wines are located in the Petran vineyards directly on the river, mainly the vineyards number 6, 12 and 7 using both red and black grapes. Their location makes sure they are constantly watered by the fresh river flow while also enjoying brief but not too long exposure to the Hot Petran sun due to their location deep inside the valley under the steep incline of valley.

Earthy Wines :

The Earthy wines are located in the vineyards number 5,13 and 14. These can mainly be found on the eastern side of the river valley next to Vallagne as well as on the narrow plateau on the western side opposite to Vallagne. The grapes here are also the largest of any vineyards, always giving a very bountiful harvest for many wines!

Light Wines :

The light Wines vineyards number 4 and 11 are both located on the most sunny sides of the Petran wine valley, getting some of the longest sun exposure in all the vineyards, most particularly the vineyard number 4 which is exposed all day long. These vineyards are perfect for Rosé´s as well as generally any lighter wines good for hot and dry summer days.

Floral Wines :

The Vineyard number 8 stands out compared to the other ones as it is located furthest from the river onto a small plateau surrounded by fields of grass and flowers hence its more floral but also fresh cut grass tastes.

Green Grapes vineyards :

These vineyards numbered 2,9 and 10 are generally not used for wine making wine but simply grapes as fruits but there are  exceptions as they are also sometimes used for white wines. These wines will have far more dry taste compared to their neighboring vineyards, very little fruity or earthy tastes.
