A HOMECOMING REFLECTION

TO MY FAITHFUL COLLEAGUES IN THE CAPITAL,

Over the past few years, I, Oksana Sarkozic, have faithfully served in the Prefect of the General Staff as Seneschal and Dumacratic Archivist. My work has been both rewarding and complicated as I try to leverage its burden with the time I spend among family and my people in Aldersberg. This weight, which sits heavily upon me, is something that I believe should be passed on, as I focus more on matters at home.

Tirelessly, I have toiled. Each waking moment I spend with a weary eye focused on the window, in expectation of yet another letter from the capital. In the time I have spent in office, I have lost one child to stress while still in the womb and have yet to lose the time I wished to spend with the others. I have also sacrificed the development of my people for that of the whole. While I love my country, it is our quiet countryside that I hold dear. Aldersberg is my home, and it is what I wish to focus my efforts on now. For the good of my future children and the friends I have gathered.

To the men and women of the capital, I leave affairs in good hands. My replacement shall surely follow in my footsteps with the same purpose that I have held in my time in office. I do not leave with the worry that things will be worse off without me. I instead promise to uphold the values of our country in my new focus. Aldersberg shall be the Jewel of Adria, this I swear.
