HISTORY

The Aevaris Talonnii traces its humble beginnings back to the Haelun’orian Republic, where a Sillumiran named Ellisar wed a medic and tavernkeep named Aestenia. They started their family during the republic, and it was during this time that they befriended another Sillumir named Glynfir. Ellisar and Aestenia helped him learn to reconnect with the citizenry as he had been a child soldier and raised with only a first name and no ties. The winds of change that later blew through Haelun’or and cast down the Republic led the family to move to Haense and Glynfir soon followed.

It was in Haense that Glynfir would  become an officially adopted member of the family. Haense treated them well, but as generations passed, the need to live among other mali became more apparent. This prompted a move to Fenn and then eventually Celia’nor, where nobility status would at length be bestowed. Family life picked up a more rapid pace, with marriages and business ventures coming to pass.

  VALUES

Though life has changed much, core family values have remained. Two of the most prominent being honor and service. One should strive to do what is right and remain mindful of those to whom allegiance is owed. In most nations where the family has resided, at least one Aevaris has held a government position. This is not to say that the family has remained rigid in its views, as time living among different nations has shaped beliefs as well. Such has manifested in a departure from some of the more narrow mindsets from Haelun’or and a belief in the future of elven unity.

Balance is also something that is encouraged, as depicted in the sigil by a sword and a book. Just as Ellisar and Aestenia are a soldier and a medic, respectively, so too have family members gone down one path, the other, or a completely new one. No matter the chosen path, they are encouraged to learn necessary skills from other disciplines. Whatever is needed by the nation, the family will seek to learn and so education has become a value as well.

Another focus that has developed due to the guiding hand of Glynfir’s wife, Saphielle, is proper etiquette. Court was new to the family upon moving to Celia’nor and becoming nobility was certainly an adjustment. Being the Silver Seneschal upon marrying into the family, Saphielle has been able to set a proper example and assist in the integration with courtly life since. An emphasis is placed on saving proper face and being mindful of actions and their implications. This is done ultimately with the hopes of setting a good example for other Talonnii.


An element of superstition has entered such considerations as well. This has been especially prevalent since Veralya Wynasul’s publication of her contemplations on the stars and their constellations. The seasons and associated star formations associated with one’s birth are often taken into consideration when a path or additional occupation is sought.

Enterprise has persisted as a focus as well.  From the early days of Starpool’s Aevaris wine reserve and Ellisar architecture company to more recent efforts, the family seeks to do its part to contribute to the Talarian economy.

Moving forward from the days of the establishment of Celia’nor, to the newly established
Talar’nor, the Aevaris Talonii remains strong as ever. The talonii’s gaze remaining ever headstrong towards the future as new generations continue to be added.
