Remembering ‘54.

 

LO, Hohen-ite und Azorite!

 

Since the Covenant’s concord of 1962, The Winburgh Proclamation, we have lived under prosperous peace. Many, and all, lost dear friends and kin to the Anathema, but still we fought so that now we could live in 𝕲𝖔𝖙𝖙’s peace. However, after many years have since passed, 23 to be exact, there is even greater cause to make remembrance of those lost in battle and foray. Many a man of the viscounty (now County of Hohengarten, by the Apostolic King’s gutte grace) sought battle in the Midlands, ourselves and our kin included. 

 

Among those grave and bloody clashes was the bloodiest of all, for Azor, in the Fields of Westmark. ‘Twas that fight, that was fought, where 400 or more of our brave Azorites fought but cruelly met an early grave; though comfort was found once they regained The Almighty in The Seven Skies. More than 400 were lost, but we shall never forget their sacrifice, their ultimate sacrifice und for that we have commanded the erection of a war memorial, a spire with cross, and have commissioned, most importantly, a monumental brass, wherein, printed upon it, shall be words of grace for those brave men.

For the unveiling of this grandest of monuments, we are pleased to welcome the attendance of the Lord and Lady of Alba. Their presence at this mark of Azorite history is welcomed, and we pray that 𝕲𝖔𝖙𝖙 grant unto them His grace. May their visit to Rikardsburg be one filled with gladness and exaltation.

Order of Events:

Unveiling & Blessings of Azor’s Monumental Brass [5:30pm EST, 24th May]

We shall begin our events with the unveiling and subsequent blessing of the monument offered to those lost during the war in the Middelan. Thereafter allowing for speeches and prayers for the fallen.

 

Festivities for Peace [Begins immediately after the previous event]

Upon the conclusion of the prayers, for the brave lost, all are welcome to attend celebrations, by festival, for the covenant peace that subsists. Where there shall be drinking and feasting and even greater merriment.

 

Burning The Burgundian [Begins immediately after the previous event]

Amidst the jovialities of the festival a straw man, dressed Veletzer soldier, shall be set alight upon a pyre. This is to mark the end of The League’s tyranny and our renewal, as 𝕲𝖔𝖙𝖙’s peace reigns in the Heartlandic realms.

O’ Almighty Lord, You who are Yourself our peace and reconciliation, grant us peace.

Make all men and women witnesses of Your truth, justice and love. 

Banish from their hearts whatever might endanger peace;

And by Your bestowal of holiest matrimony unto us, enlighten all your servants, that they may guarantee and defend Your gift of peace.

May longed-for peace blossom forth and reign always and evermore.
