World Oceans Day

 

World Oceans Day is celebrated annually to raise global awareness of the benefits provided by the oceans and the current challenges faced by the international community about the oceans/the ocean's climates.

 

This observance is tied to SDG14 of the United Nations' sustainable development goals, which aims to 'Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development.' World Oceans Day is dedicated to promoting and ensuring the conservation and sustainable use of our oceans and marine resources.

World Oceans Day

 

Come one! Come all! During our World Oceans Day on the 8th of June as we host a Beach Day at Cloud Temple! Our Beach Day is an opportunity to learn about the diverse sea creatures that call our Aevos waters home and how to take care of them. We will have a variety of sea creatures on show! 

 

Film Night 

 

Grab your popcorn! Grab your cosy blankets! We will have a Film Night in the LOTC Discord on the 14th of June. We will be showing one of the franchise's films that inspired LOTC - The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey (PG-13/12A). Join us as we follow Bilbo Baggins, a halfling, who finds himself accompanying a group of dwarves and a wizard on their journey to reclaim the Kingdom of Erebor from the clutches of Smaug, an evil dragon.

 

Boat Race

 

Get your pirate hats! Get your sea-worthy vassal! Our monks will be hosting a Boat Race! Those wishing to play need only find a partner or on your own and make their way to the chosen location which will be announced closer to the time on the 28th of  June to locate one of our monks. The race will be conducted in a bracket system, and the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places will gain prizes respectfully!

 

Battle Of The Arts 

 

Every few months, we host a battle of the arts! This month, it will be based on Pride Month as we explore the theme of The Colors of the Rainbow!
