don dada 579 Share Posted June 16, 2024 (edited) yes me agree knights in combat intended to incapacitate, stun, or disarm their opponent, which in turn was a deathwish for them. by way of removing their main weapon, getting them on the ground, or working around armor gaps. but all knights understood that slaying an opponent was a process and not a one-hit wonder kind of shindig where you just swing very bigly you can see this very vividly in David Michôd's depiction of shakespeare's Henry V play when prince henry of wales fights against sir henry percy. swordfighting goes out of the choreography, they go straight to grappling, half-swording until "hotspur" percy lets up once and prince henry is able to lethally work a dagger right beneath an armor gap under the helmet this is not to say sword attacks still don't hurt an opponent in plate, being hit with anything coming in hard and fast bunched up in metal can still be disorienting in the right circumstances so ill say this this is also fantasy though so honestly as long as someone isn't outlandishly unrealistic it's not necessarily an issue more so a peeve to see but it doesn't necessitate any policing, it's just nice to see people rp these things goodly and as unfun as it sounds it's only as fun as you make it to be i joined with a far smaller tenure than most people on lotc but i've tried to embody this same mindset and have had very good reception about it regarding my character, so it's one of the benefits of taking a more grounded charge with knight/plate man rp Edited June 16, 2024 by madnorth

See, normally if you go one on one with a plate armor knight, you got a 50/50 chance of winning. But I'm a genetic freak and I'm not normal! So you got a 25%, AT BEST, at beat me. Then you add archers to the mix, your chances of winning drastic go down. See the 3 way at Sacrifice, you got a 33 1/3 chance of winning, but I, I got a 66 and 2/3 chance of winning, because archers KNOWS they can't pierce me and they’re not even gonna try! So void mages, you take your 33 1/3 chance, minus my 25% chance and you got an 8 1/3 chance of winning at this CRP. But then you take my 75% chance of winning, if we was to go one on one, and then add 66 2/3 per cents, I got 141 2/3 chance of winning this CRP. See warlock, the numbers don't lie, and they spell disaster for you during this combat roleplay encounter. See, but I'm gonna break it down for all you ladies. Would you rather be with me? Or would you rather be with Merlin?
