THE EDICT OF VALOGNES

THE RESTORATION OF THE HOUSE DE VALOGNES

Issued: 13th of Sigismund’s End, 1986

To the subjects of the Rhosmark,

Amongst the Barons of the March, the noble House de Valognes stands as the eldest amongst the titled nobility. Their noble ilk traces itself from the legendary House of Ashford de Rouen, with its dynasts boasting direct relation to the Druscan Margraves of yore. True to their heritage, the line of Valognes is one of warriors and the house is renowned for its martial traditions. Such has earned the House great respect amongst the Marcherfolk, who have learnt to value the military prowess and martial nature of the Valognes.

Since the fall of Fredericksburg, however, the House has dwindled in numbers. For quite a time, our Marcher coronet did believe there to be none remaining. Thus, it is with great jubilation that Lady Judith de Valognes and her brother, Lord Geralt de Valognes, make their reintroduction into our society. Hence, in commemoration of the reverence of their esteemed ancestors, we do hereby invest the Lady de Valognes and her household with the all the titles and honours of their forefathers, henceforth naming her to be Baroness of Valognes, a title which shall be passed unto the legal heirs of her household.

Their Duties are as follows,

With our culture and beliefs that have been followed throughout the times, Judith de Valognes and her family shall herein bear the title of Baron of Valognes. With the bearing of such, Baroness Judith is therefore delegated the responsibilities of a titled member of the peerage under the March of the Rhosmark and with it, is expected to act in the defence of the Rhosmark as well as participate and contribute to the Estates Assembly. It is the great hope of our Marcher Coronet that the House shall once more prosper, just as they have in times past.

Signed;

HIS SERENE HIGHNESS, the Prince Richard Octavian,

Margrave of the Rhosmark

HER SERENE HIGHNESS, the Princess Noémie of Summerhall,

Margravine-Consort of the Rhosmark
