Mindrender, a silver sword with sinister origins. The history of the blade is one of tragedy and despair, fashioned from unknown dark magic in the depths of the Underdark; it is responsible for the death of countless Mori’quessir. The weapon itself was meant to be a trap and a lure, fashioned by fell Dark Mages and bound to a well of dark energies deep in the Cursed City in which it was found. In recent times, prior to the Descendants venturing into the depths of the Veiled Reliquary, the blade was discovered by the Matriarch of Clan Duskrynn, Lady Velkora and slowly she bonded to the weapon in mind and spirit, the weapon starting to sunder her already strained mind.

With the power of the blade in her hands, and her Clan fighting a losing battle against the Tarraskan Hives that assailed their Fortress City, she set out with her honour guard in search of the source of the blade's power in hopes of discovering even more weapons to turn the tide. What they discovered however would spell the doom of Clan Duskrynn for good, though initially given a boon to their strength, speed and longevity which would be put to good effect to shatter the swarms that beset their walls, they would not realize the cost until it was too late. As time ticked forward the warriors of Clan Duskrynn would slowly be turned into mindless undead spawn at the Matriarchs command, who with the sword at her side had been driven mad with power, her mind rendered a fragment of its former self.

Now the blade resides in the hands of a Descendant, one who braved the Cursed City and did battle with the Lich Queen Matriarch trapped within the Silent Reliquary itself. Though the question remains, will this Descendant fall into a similar cycle of despair and tragedy as had befallen all the previous bearers of this weapon? Or would they maintain the grip on their sanity and rise above it?

Time would tell.

General Redlines

Spoiler

- Has the durability of argentum

- Has the properties of argentum

Telekinetic Bond [Combative]
The Mindrender is a legendary floating sword that levitates around its wielder, responding to their thoughts and intentions. The wielder can control the weapon with their mind, directing it to strike, defend, or hover. However, the sword requires the wielder's conscious attention to act. The bond between the wielder and the sword is forged through intense focus, making the Mindrender an extension of the wielder’s will.

- Activation: Requires [2] emotes to establish the telekinetic bond. The first emote involves the wielder focusing their mind on the sword, while the second emote initiates the bond, causing the sword to levitate and glow faintly with a blue aura.
- Control: After the bond is established, the wielder can control the Mindrender with [2] actions per emote (Same as a player). The sword can perform various tasks, such as striking, defending, or hovering to block incoming attacks. The wielder must clearly visualize each action for the sword to execute it effectively.
- Duration: The bond lasts for [6] emotes before requiring reactivation. If the bond is broken (due to distraction or injury), it will take [1] emotes to reestablish it.

 Telekinetic Bond Redlines

Spoiler

- The sword’s control and maneuverability are directly proportional to the wielder’s mental focus. Distractions or interruptions can slow the sword or reduce its effectiveness in combat.

              - Distractions include bright flashes of light that are capable of blinding, loud sounds, aggressive physical contact (pushing, punching, etc)
- The sword’s strength is comparable to the strength of the wielder, it does not buff or de-buff strength or speed
- The Mindrender cannot strike through solid objects or bypass physical barriers. It must follow the natural laws of motion and momentum.
- The Maximum Range which Mindrender can fly is within 10 blocks of the players.

- The speed of the weapon is the same as a player, 8 blocks per emote, 4 blocks if a secondary action is performed (attacking, defending, etc)
- You cannot use Mindrender with another weapon simultaneously, as the focus required to maintain control over it is too great.

- You cannot use magic simultaneously with Mindrender, as the focus required to maintain control over it is too great.

Psychic Feedback [Passive]

The telekinetic bond is not without its risks. Any damage the sword sustains during combat is transferred back to the wielder as psychic feedback, causing intense pain or disorientation. This feedback makes the wielder vulnerable to attacks if they are not careful with their use of the sword.

- Feedback Intensity: Minor damage and anti-magical effects to the sword causes mild headaches or nausea, while severe damage can result in temporary blindness or unconsciousness for [1-2] emotes. The severity of the feedback is proportional to the damage inflicted on the sword

 Psychic Feedback Redlines

Spoiler

- The feedback is unavoidable and scales with the damage inflicted on the sword. Attempts to ignore or suppress the feedback will result in failure.
- If the sword is shattered, the wielder will be incapacitated for [3] emotes due to the overwhelming psychic backlash.
- The feedback only affects the wielder and cannot be transferred or mitigated by external means.
- Striking, Blocking or Parrying with the weapon does not constitute as having received minor damage, only direct blows focused at the weapon with great intensity causes pain.

- Thahnium, Aulric Oil and likewise other anti-magical items and effects cause the bond with the sword to weaken with persistent exposure (longer than [1] emote) causing the bond to fail and the sword fall to the ground.

Mind's Eye [Activation]

The wielder’s connection with the Mindrender grants them heightened awareness of their surroundings. While the bond is active, the wielder can sense movements within a 10-block radius, allowing them to anticipate and react to threats more effectively. However, this heightened awareness can be overwhelming, leading to sensory overload if too many stimuli are present.

- Sensory Overload: If the wielder is exposed to multiple sources of sensory input (e.g., loud noises, flashing lights, multiple opponents), the more difficult it is to maintain focus, if four or more sources are present at a given time, the bond formed with the blade breaks, leaving the sword to drop to the ground, inactive

 Mind's Eye Redlines

Spoiler

- The heightened awareness does not grant the wielder any form of precognition or invincibility. It only enhances their ability to sense and react within the specified radius.
- Sensory overload is a constant risk. If the wielder fails to manage their surroundings, they risk losing control of the sword and leaving themselves vulnerable to attacks.
- The Mindrender’s awareness does not extend beyond physical threats. Illusions, mental attacks, or spiritual entities are not detectable through this ability.

- Mind's Eye cannot see through walls or physical obstacles.

- Mind's Eye requires 1 emote to activate, granting the player its effects till the end of the bond duration.
