A missive from House Kovachev is displayed across the Realm of the Raev.

On the eve of a late autumn day this past year, a foul presence of Shadow sought to invade my Khovala Hall of Kovgrad.  As I hosted guests around my hearth, including Lord Stanislav vas Ruthern; my ward, the young Lady Karlotta Kortrevich; and the Nornish Warrior Aethelwulf, we were soon to encounter the unsightly beast that is the Rotten Crow.

It stood around two and a half meters tall with its mangled, shambling body reminiscent of a man-turned crow.  The head of the beast was naught but a living skull with chasms for eyes and a beak filled with jagged teeth.

This was a creature of living sin and malice, which sought to impose upon my hold.

But I was raised under the teachings of the Light and while my heart may know mercy and love, it is to never be seduced by the Shadow; it is never to cower under the threat of Dark.  With force, this demon was expelled from my halls and it fled into the snowy foothills leaving only a trail of its blackened blood in its wake.

Winter then came, where I suspect this creature has hibernated and sought to lick at its wounds.  But now the snows have melted, and summer reigns over the Kingdom–where this crow is surely to roam again.  So let this missive serve as a warning to my peers to remain vigilant and armed.  Line your doorways with salt, and clothe yourself well to shield yourself from the fel-flame sorcery of the Hells.

The dour visage of Princess Milena darkened as word of this attack was brought before her. It only strengthened her resolve--soon she would see these creatures of shadow brought low before her. The Highlands and the wasteland of Ailmere would be scoured clean.

Phillipe van Leuven glanced away from the missive of Promotion, looking instead to the telling of the encounter with the Unholy Raven. His fingers tapped the spruce wood of the table, and he considered.

All the more reason, I suppose. He resolved to speak to the Emissar about the matter.

That wandering specter came to drift its gaze over the missive as his flawless features furrowed. Again, The Dark sought her halls. No longer, of course, could he rear his warhammer in defense. No longer was he a defense upon her battlements. Drifting his gaze to those transculent fingers, he could only note that he was helpless to aid in a meaningful way. Of course, many would have him obliterated if he tried.

His thoughts cast to what he had seen, and he wished her well from his distant lands, but nothing done in haste could happen without consequence. Or, frankly, anything at all.

And then, too, did he realise that he would be caught in the wide-cast net of his home. Albeit, it changed little with their hunt for him already true.

A familiar chew of ghostly teeth struck his ghostly cheek - the illusion of previous gestures. At least, it seemed, she bared her iron with confidence and that much gave him cause to bare a small smile.
