For nearing a half-decade now we’ve been without a home. Some of you, scattered, some huddled in camps, some wandering.

Among cities, tents – no place for a hobbit to be. It’s long been said we can’t rest properly without grass above our heads.

And I have not rested one night, not one day, not dozed or drank or smoked, from henceforth we set foot away from our home. I did give my word that I would bring us to new Shires, didn’t I?

It was a long, long time ago that I grew up in Honeyhill. But before that, my father as a young man came to a Shire named Bramblebury. Nestled among pines; the soil fragrant with their needles, upon a gravel shoreline. Those were times when Knox was with us.

And with us, once more he shall be. It has no name thus far. But it is among pines once more we find our Shire. Proper, and good.

Come halfling, musin, or gnome. Those of the Dunfarthing, and those of the cities – new and old alike. I am deeply, deeply aware some of you find yourself paying taxes, of all things. But now; halfling, musin, gnome – need not live like that once longer.

Drop coinpurses, and take up shovel, for we, among the far pines of Urugan, far from such threats and persons looming over us, we are BURROWING.

The soil is soft. The land is alive. The pond – teaming with frogs. Among the clearing, we shall make our Shire once more. As we have done, five times in my lifetime, six in my fathers, and second, in many of yours.

Some thought themselves finally rid of us. Well, persistent little buggers, aren't we?

There's always another Shire. Come build it with us.

- Your Wizard Mags, never again Thain, but always, with you.

Spoiler

WE’S BACK. A presently unnamed halfling village, also welcoming gnomes and musin. Any short-folk prior resident of Dunwen is immediately granted housing there, and any who never got the chance to as well (sorry tall people). Tax-free housing as always, opportunities to build ya own burrow or mushroom house (for the gnomies), and the musin are already starting on Little Babblebrook!

Peep in the halfling discord to find coordinates (as we aren't connected to the roads just yet) and details on building!

A very tired bard hears through the grapevine of the return of the Halfling home. A broad smile appears on his face as he considers it whilst on his porch,

"Holly... you really did it. Tricky weefolk."

The halfling musician smiled at the pamphlet in his hand, thanking Knox that he heard about it's appearance on a town board.

"New friends, new stories, new places t' see? Y' do nae need t' tell me twice!" The halfling clambered onto his dog's saddle, giving him a pat. "Alright, let's find 'ome."

The hastily appointed Thain of Halflings wakes swathed in a pile of hobbit architecture drawings, she tiredly preps a cup o' tea to sip at the window of her new office, peering over the new land she'd call home. Her job was not done yet - there were burrows to build.

"Oi ought 't hold a burrow warmin' party, aye - I'll invite Godwin."

"home...finally" A very floral halfling chuckled to himself. tucking the leaflet into his chest pocket as he looks over the pond before picking up his shovels and turning to finish his new burrow  "to our persistence!"

"good on them"  Aelrin mused with a gentle nod before fixing his hair and returning to his duties.
