Issued on the 8th of Laurelie’s Peity of the year of 132 D.R.

 

INTRODUCTION

 

With the retirement of our first Alcalde, Dante Fontesar and his Vice-Alcalde Diego Zafrios upon this Saint’s day, the Sovereign State of Hyspia announces the Alcalde Elections opening once more. As opposed to previous, though, an Alcaldes term is stated to officially last until the next census - which is held every three Saints months. Below lists what is needed in order to announce one's intent to campaign.

ON CAMPAIGNING 

To campaign, the individual must have lived within the Sovereign State of Hyspia for a period of eight (8) Saints weeks and own property within our nation.

This will be checked via the most recent census of Hyspian citizenry, alongside their standing within our lands.

 

Those of the royal family or the Sovereigns council may not run, due to their already prominent position within our nation.

 

When campaigning, posters may be made, and speeches and events scheduled to put your best foot forward. Upon the publication of this missive, an individual must announce their intention to campaign within two (2) Saints days.

 

The election process lasts for one (1) Saints week.

 

ON PRIVILEGES AND DUTIES 

Upon becoming Alcalde, they have the privilege of requesting a meeting with the Sovereign.

 

Upon becoming Alcalde, they have the duty to take petitions from the citizenry to present before the Crown.

 

Upon becoming Alcalde, they have the duty to keep the notice board updated with current events within the Sovereign State of Hyspia.

 

Upon becoming Alcalde, they have the duty to oversee the Hyspian tavern.

 

Upon becoming Alcalde, they have the duty to oversee the cleanliness of the city.

 

Upon becoming Alcalde, they have the duty to oversee the creation of jobs within the city.

 

HOW TO APPLY?

If you are a Hyspian citizen of good standing and the age of majority, you may announce your intentions to run for Alcalde!

"If I were to become Alcalde, the voice of the common folk of Hyspia, I would help in the further development of Hyspia in aspects of infrastructure, academia, and quality of life. With my background as a landsknecht, a soldier, a successful shopowner, and a master in alchemical research, I believe the wisdom I have gain over my long life can help advise and make propositions that can improve the lives of my fellow citizens and those of future generations of Hyspians."

The old Waldenic shopkeep, Klaus von Berkhoven, would finish writing up his campaign's application before looking over it with a detail-oriented eye a couple times before rolling it up and handing it to a mechanical bird of Animii design to then fly off to deliver it. He would then bow his head, close his eyes, and clasp his hands together in prayer. "ALMIGHTY GOTT, guide me throughout this campaign und throughout mein term if Dein children in Hyspia choose for me to represent them.
