Amendment to the Dueling Act

Preface:

 

In order to protect vulnerable individuals from suffering undo harm, these rules seek to regulate fringe cases, ensuring those who cannot otherwise defend themselves are not challenged. 

 

Act I 

 

In regards to disabilities 

 

Individuals classified as enfeebled*, irreparable disfigured*, or otherwise incapable shall not be directly 



 

  1. Individuals classified as enfeebled*, irreparable disfigured*, or otherwise incapable shall not be directly challenged to a duel.

 

  1. In the case that a duel with a protected class becomes necessary, the challenged shall choose a champion to fight for them.

 

  1. If the protected class finds themselves restored before the agreed upon date and time of the duel, they must take the place of their champion. 

 

Act II

 

In regards to champions 

 

  1. Champions must be citizens of Ravenmire. 

 

  1. Champions need not adhere to the faith of Canon.

 

  1. The individual chosen as the champion must be agreed upon by both parties. 

 

  1. If the two parties cannot come to an agreement upon the champion, one will be chosen by a governing official such as a knight, sheriff, mayor, duke, or sovereign.

 

  1. Champions are subject to all prior rules of engagement layed out in the dueling act of 2002.







 

*An enfeebled individual is herein defined as one who’s capacity for life has been reduced by an affliction such as disease or a condition such as pregnancy that reduces movement. This is also to be applied to malnourished individuals.  

 

*An individual qualifies for the irreparably disfigured label when they are missing two or more extremities, herein defined as full arms or legs. The descendant in question can be missing these two in any configuration, e.g. one arm, one leg or both arms etcetera. This does not apply to those who have previously lost limbs to subsequently replace them by any means.
