LO UNTO THE PEOPLE OF ALBA & THE HEARTLANDS,

The expansion of Elizabeth calls for new opportunities to rise, particularly in the scholarly sector. Next to the Saint Calliope Institute of Medicine, the Public Library of Saint Daniel will prioritise preserving intellectualism in the minds of the Lowlander people of the current century. As granted by Prince Edward and Princess Cecily, the Alban Wordsmiths Society under Lady Octavia Galbraith will remain the host of the library — providing the resources needed to function freely.

⊱  ─────────────── ✺ ───────────────  ⊰

The Alban Wordsmiths Society has three mission statements they wish to practice during their tenancy of the Public Library of Saint Daniel: library restoration, preservation of literary crafts, and community outreach. Whilst their pursuit lies solely in the Duchy of Alba, the enjoyment of literature and learning is for everyone across the continent of Aevos.

I. LIBRARY RESTORATION

The once-Library of Whitespire and its Chief Librarian salvaged their collection of books before the destruction of the Aaunic capital. In the city of Elizabeth under the AWS and Public Library of Saint Daniel, its extensive literary catalogue will be displayed again for public use. Furthermore, a miniature museum displaying Johannian history and relics will be positioned within the nooks of the building.

Loaning services will be open once the amenities are set up and courtiers will be notified.

II. PRESERVATION OF LITERARY CRAFTS

As the name suggests, the Alban Wordsmiths Society relies on circulating literary crafts. Aspiring young authors, poets and playwrights will have the opportunity to flourish in the spaces provided by the Public Library of Saint Daniel to collaborate with like-minded individuals. In addition to encouraging writing aspirants, the Alban Wordsmiths Printing Press will be founded to publish fiction and nonfiction works of both past and present. As inventory is low, the printing press will be imperative to circulate knowledge throughout the continent of Aevos.

III. COMMUNITY OUTREACH

Elizabeth's citizenry and the Duchy of Alba's surrounding lands will be invited to participate in communal activities run by the AWS that promote literacy rates and cultural enrichment. Creative writing workshops, poetry readings, play performances, and public book readings will be among the observed practices run by the society.

"I look forward to the intellectual renaissance Lady Octavia's efforts will surely ignite in Alba," remarked The Princess of Alstion to her husband, Edward, the Lord Chancellor, George, and Joseph and Margarete Preussens -- those who so brilliantly enacted the city's newest district. She looked forward to joining the Galbraith, and the Lord Alstreim, at the Wordsmithing Society's meetings in due time.
