drywall 201 Popular Post Share Posted January 19, 2025 (edited) Player(s) Being Reported LeDuxBerrie Rule(s) Broken Metagaming Player(s) Involved LeDuxBerrie, _bats, xxRetro Explanation 11/17/24 I, _Bats, as Pierce Bishop, idle role-play with various other players in Haelun’or’s military ground. Uriella (LeDuxBerrie) is present, where she confirms her relation to Celia’nor officials, Raziel (Laeonathan), and Elora (FrostyGopneeq) - with the latter (Elora) having been outed as a warlock by Pierce some days prior. With Elora’s eventual monk revival, she claims Pierce as being a warlock himself, with many finding this accusation baseless and likely untrue. This sparks a personal investigation by Uriella, where she finds and searches Pierce for a grimoire. She confirms he has no grimoire after this, and is not a warlock. 12/6/24 Pierce writes to Uriella to warn her of a plot against the elves, adding that a Celia'nor official may be involved. Uriella is upset by this accusation and the two part ways, ending with Uriella making the occasional trip to Numendil to harass and slander his name in the public square with no lead-up. Most pay her little mind, and she is later said to be escorted out by guards should she return again. Nothing of further note comes from this, with only frequent break-ins to Pierce's residence conducted by guards of both nations and some other officials. 1/8/25 - 7:29 PM EST I post an application for Naz'therak, which is accepted and hidden after 10 minutes. No lessons are conducted after this and both parties log. I have no grimoire or active magic. 1/9/25 - From 12:17 PM EST up until 2:00 pm EST I, _bats, and xxRetro, venture from The Vale to Celia’nor in hopes of finding a pair of fairy wings for her character. Given both nations were bustling at the time, we figured we would venture to find anyone who could assist us. Together, we spent 30 minutes roleplaying in the Celia’nor square before LeDuxBerrie, as Uriella, spawned in and approached me from behind. xxRetro, as her character Yelizaveta Mahaut, suggested I leave. This was something I was ready to do especially given Uriella typically only harasses Pierce with dialogue that has no prior build up. She immediately dragged me into a CRP with no lead-up roleplay. It was her first action upon logging on. I was in a 2-3 OOC hour long interrogation with her, where the accusations continued to switch up. At this point, there was no evidence of Pierce being a warlock, slandering Celia’nor, or associating with darkspawn. There is physically no evidence to make any claim of him being a warlock, given my MA was accepted only a day prior. Near the end of the interrogation, a shaman is brought in to perform a spirit walk. Pierce is clear of any suspicion by the Shaman, who had taken an oath of honesty. As soon as this happens, Uriella claims bias. 1/13/25 - A Sell Sword known to hunt Warlocks is sent after Pierce. On 1/17/25, the newly appointed Numendil NL (Nooblivs) is informed in roleplay that Pierce is a Warlock by Uriella. They have admitted to being close friends for a while in OOC. Relevant Material Evidence Uriella clears Pierce + Irp harassment:https://imgur.com/a/uriella-clears-pierce-39eWlX4 LeDuxBerrie Celia'nor Discord: : https://imgur.com/a/leduxberrie-evidence-discord-rpH2ACy Pierce's interrogation + some information from others: https://imgur.com/a/pierces-interrogation-chatter-with-others-XG5Dvmd 924, 258, -1303 01/09/25 Evidence of uncooperative conduct. Evidence I tried to speak to them to try to figure out exactly what reasoning they have to accuse him of being a warlock, they dodged the questions regarding the legitimacy of their claims and indirectly answered me with responses that didn’t directly correlate with what was asked. Chat With LeDuxBerrie: https://imgur.com/a/chat-with-leduxberrie-J8rMA0S Please note: This chat took place 1/18/25, and despite LeDuxBerrie stating Pierce being accused of three things, the only one that has been spread around is strictly the thing about him being a warlock, which was my main focus in the conversation. Desired Result of Report I would appreciate it if the necessary punishment is given for metagaming if it is proven. xxRetro and I wish to be left alone, tired of being run out of nations with the public spreading of metagamed knowledge by Uriella. The baseless accusations have been disproven several times over, and we’ve been cleared of these suspicions just as many. It was only when the warlock application was posted did Uriella decide Pierce was suddenly a Naz’therak, and go after him at her earliest convenience. It is insulting to be told that the roleplay we’d given was lackluster after both xxRetro and I have made efforts to make a narrative out of this, only for the other party to offer little in return. I will offer a formal apology to the accused if it is proven that they were not metagaming. Thank you for taking the time to read this report. Baccaaa 494 Share Posted January 19, 2025 I logged in and saw you in the city I spend 99% of my rp at. Why is it suddenly meta for me to stop and CRP you under such circumstances that roleplay wise has had a lot of build up prior? If you want to know the full story, my char has long been tasked with making a diplomatic meeting with Numendil regarding your char during AstriaS's char's reign, but due to other events and being unable to assemble other players IRP and catch her IRP at the time due to the fact Im in the European timezones. Alongside that, you clearly never mention absolutely any part of the roleplay that has involved my character in a blatant attempt to 'metawash' my behaviour. You got CRP'd and place into questioning for 3 accusations that NEVER changed throughout the interrogation. The 3 accusations were justified by 2 witnesses, which my char recognizes as trusted, that claim of your chars behaviour being suspicious, thing that, rekindled further suspicion upon your char. Of course my char called bias upon the spirit walk performed on your char by your chars IRP friend. How is that NOT suspicious? Alongside that, my char obviously searched you simply for grimoire during the first interaction, which is definetly not sufficient. I will definetly add this here, yes, indeed, my char might dislike yours. Afterall, your char accused my char's realms of things that are untrue in public, which obviously fosters dislike. Now, if my char has valid suspicions and a little disliking on yours, why is it not valid to have suspicion and act upon it? Why is it assumed that theres 0 RP behind it or any build up? Is every story revolving only about what you see? Why do you NOT mention the OOC chatter between me and you were you inquire on how things became the way they are IRP? I mean we had a genuinely productive 1 on 1 conversation where I stated why my char has suspicion upon yours. Judging by this report, you seemed to be only pretending to be understanding, eitherly completely disregarding what I wrote after the convo or intentionally decided to not include it here. I cant say anything that short of that Im disappointed with this behaviour. I have always been keen on not breaking rules regarding metagaming and in other cases I wont mention I have modreqqed to affirm if my RP suspicion would be affirmed as meta. I can explain every single action of my char if necessary.
Nooblius 7965 Share Posted January 19, 2025 I had heard about this first like four days ago (where I cracked a couple jokes about how LeDuxBerrie is a powerful fleeper agent who shall destroy them) but then I heard the accusations of Meta. I reached out to LeDuxBerrie because I felt as someone who was close with them when they were a new player I wanted to encourage them to be careful of metagaming. They told me they had reasons iRP, and I believed them plainly because I don't believe LeDuxBerrie would lie to me (and by the end of my comment, I think it's clear they didn't lie). I then mentioned this to Retro (who admittedly I forgot to respond to their last message, looking at it now) and tried to encourage them not to assume someone was metagaming, and to just reach out to LeDuxBerrie, or that if they needed I could speak to LeDuxBerrie. Frankly, I felt a bit disinterested of it being a problem when I read the reply, as it seemed to me just disagreeing with how someone else RPed suspicions despite the way it went out seeming very reasonable. I was trying to think about how to politely say that, and then eventually I just didn't reply (woops, sorry Retro if you're reading this). 1 hour ago, bats said: On 1/17/25, the newly appointed Numendil NL (Nooblivs) is informed in roleplay that Pierce is a Warlock by Uriella. They have admitted to being close friends for a while in OOC. For context, I had gone to Celian'or to RP with Sailor because my character Anorhil had missed mail from before I took a break in November, and it just happened to be day they did new rebuild so people were running around. The topic between Anorhil and Sailor's character was about evil specifically because the subject of that mail was asking to learn more about Malchediael, and because he was secretly trying to SUS OUT if Celian'or's leadership is truly against darkspawn or just pretend to be (Someone can check the logs, this was referenced in the RP even). Uriella's the daughter of Raziel (Laeonathan) and my character happens to know them because one of the first Roleplays I did on Anorhil involved Raziel helping to kill a Warlock. OOCly I know LeDuxBerrie because they played in Adria and were a buddy of mine, very stalwart new player who I was always happy to Roleplay with and I tried to encourage as much as I could. Something I want to mention is that the player TheVoiden approached me in RP a couple days ago specifically about Uriella and Pierce Bishop because he wanted help organizing an ambush on Uriella, alleging that Uriella was the adoptive daughter of the Warlock Elora and is trying to get the person who turned in their adoptive mother killed to tie up a loose end. So, when Anorhil was in Celian'or already asking about darkspawn, and suddenly Uriella shows up, he tries to subtlety encourage her to spill the beans. When Uriella replies, she gives in depth reasoning IRP, and even cites two witnesses (Arkaniel and Alushen) who saw Pierce Bishop speak with openly known Warlocks (Zetsu and Tatsu). She says there are three accusations, but the one she suspects the most is that he is an associate of Warlocks, not one himself. Anorhil at this point resolves to hunt down the two witnesses, darkspawn test them and confirm Uriella's testimony. I met with Voiden's character (confusingly named APA Warlock, but he's actually a robot) and discussed it briefly before tending to other business. And now today there is a report. I have personally Roleplayed interacting with a lot of fair reasons to suspect Pierce Bishop of nefarious deeds, and it is far from just a random accusation. If moderators look into the logs and have reason to say that there was an unnatural uptick which was proveably not present before the Naz MA went up, then please let me know so I can cancel my Character's plans to follow through with this narrative. For now, I will definitely put them on hold. Thank you and may God bless you ☺

retro 281 Popular Post Share Posted January 20, 2025 I was asked to chip in by staff, so I'm adding my two cents here. I've been friends with Bats for awhile and an active bystander throughout pretty much this entire thing. From when Uriella was first introduced, to the very last interaction had. You can see me chipping in as Adelheid or Yelizaveta. There isn't much for me to add on, as I helped write the majority of this report. I believe our primary issue lies with the fact Pierce had been previously cleared of all accusations, and then within the same 24 hours his magic application is posted, he's seized under suspicion of being a warlock. It's painted as a fact, and it's spread around as a fact. It's either a great coincidence or there was involved metagaming. We're left wondering why Uriella/Berrie is so fixated on exposing Pierce, when really, he hadn't been around her- or interacting with her- for some time. Spanning days, weeks, etc. It reads as a targeted thing with the timeline. Questioned once or twice? Sure, it makes sense after Elora. Cleared, and doing the necessary work to go out of your way to do it? Great interaction. But then things fall off, nothing further comes of this, and suddenly accusations run wild after the entire point of of Uriella's hatred for Pierce was him slandering Celia'nor on something he believes to be true. Lies can be spread IRP, it's not unknown. It's easy to do and can be messy to clean up as the character involved. But, when we look at the Discord screenshots from the Celia'nor guard, we're shown bending of the truth, minor exaggeration, and a refusal to drop the situation that has already been settled. Zetsu and Tetsu are the same person, there wasn't any contradiction that I can see- just added context, and there was never any mention of an orc shaman. Nobody dodged accusations either. Following this, there was a notable lack of IRP evidence, but Uriella remained firm in her choice even after a spirit walk and word of a trusted shaman. You can even read them saying they should delete some of their chat in reference to the shaman lying. How do they know the shaman is lying? Why is it difficult to believe they may be telling the truth? He's someone said to not lie as part of his oath. He's claimed to be one of their most trusted, but suddenly because he recognizes the man and acknowledges Pierce as a darkspawn hunter, it's an issue? Pierce is a darkspawn hunter, he's hunted them before. He has a history of being attacked by darkspawn, being held captive, being tortured, etc. All of this occurring within Celia'nor, witnessed by the guards. Why is it difficult to believe unless you've an OOC reason to say otherwise? Any attempts to clear Pierce's name are painted as biased, untruthful, and otherwise- and it's my belief they maintain this stance because they saw the naz application or were told of it. Claiming Bat's role-play was lackluster is ridiculous when we look back at the initial capture emotes and see there was barely any effort behind them. Just a simple grab him and go, we have the warlock. All in all, I find the situation frustrating. It's brought down the moods of many. Several of us refuse to enter Celia'nor now because this is a repeated and known issue with not just Uriella, but several other guards. He has tried to move on, but the narrative continues to push forward by insistence of Uriella/Berrie. Even days, or weeks after he was said to be cleared by herself. She enters Numendil, where he notably lives, and shouts of his potential misdeeds to every citizen. While this is just a minor annoyance, I feel it's important to mention nonetheless. Berrie is persistent, and refuses to drop the topic even after Pierce's name has been cleared. It feels like a smear campaign. It was only when the naz application was posted did any real suspicion of Pierce being a warlock surfaced. If you want context, proof, or otherwise for anything that I've said- feel free to reach out.
Baccaaa 494 Share Posted January 20, 2025 There's absolutely no way for me, an European and one that rarely looks at forums, to have checked your application of 7:29 EST with a 10 min threshold. If staff has a way to double check that, I'd be happy. A lot of the RP that led to suspicion has been massively cut from the report's words. The report leaves out completely the reason behind the so called harassment of my char on _bats' char. My char visits Numendil often and 1 day when my char walks into Numendil _bats' char starts spreading ill rumours about the realm of Celia'nor, which my char lives within. I mention this as this is the main reason my char grew to dislike _bats' char. _bats's char was spreading false rumours to the children and locals of Numendil about how Celia'nor is experimenting on children and is a vile place bad children get sent to. Naturally, if you're from Celia'nor and hear such false rumours being mentioned on your face you will dislike such and even feel offended. So what did my char do? Called him out, inquiring on why they are blatantly sending perceived false missives to my char alongside spreading such terrible terrible rumours. This in no way is harassment, considering my char got a plethora of curses, insults and slur from a char that recognizes _bats when I did call it out. Hell, I'd say my char as harassed moreso. Now, why did I mention this? Very simple. It is the origin of dislikement between my char and _bats' char. My char brought this up to the diraar perhaps a month prior my char halted him and we came under the conclusion that we would have to address Numendil for this due to the fact he does live in Numendil and obviously is avoiding Celia'nor. I also want to mention my char never fully cleared him from suspicion. If perhaps you look back a month, my char had an interaction with TheVoiden's char questioning about _bats's char and of course my char has had enough cases such as the case of Quesadilla_Man's char, Trygve Bakar regarding warlocks to know simply searching for grimoire in a faraway realm isnt the only way to clear one from suspicion. Why is this important? Well. Trygve was someone who was associating with the dark, but ended up not being an actual warlock till later. Anyhow. Lets now push into the day Pierce walks in Celia'nor. I open my POJAV launcher on my phone and hop on my horse from my home which is below the hill and enter the city my char pretty much spends her whole time in apart from when shes not travelling in elseplaces. First thing she notices? Pierce Bishop. I admitely lag quite a lot from Pojav so I didnt quite notice Retro's char until they started speaking. My first emote was "well well well". I mean, afterall, my char has been wanting to have a chance of placing Bishop's char under interrogation regarding previous suspicion alongside the main point, spreading ill rumours of a whole realm, which ended up becoming a tertiary point as later during the interrogation it was wholely disregarded. As it is clear that my char was going to interrogate Pierce but wasnt stating why publicly as it wasnt going to be a public interrogation, another char, Arkaniel, decides to respond on my steed and deem Pierce someone who associates with warlocks, because, Arkaniel, had witnessed him do such. Naturally, that is a very good source of fueling an existing suspicion, especially when reminiscing of the case of Trygve Bakar but also due to the fact Quesadilla_man's Arkaniel (yes the same person has the char of Trygve and Arkaniel) is my char's trusty student. Now here I will say, yes. The interraction was lackluster. I was on Pojav and I had 6 fps, like a swarm of people immediately approached the crowd and of course, Smmer's olog attacked the gates at the same time, something I will deem a pure coincidence, as I doubt Smmer had any intention or focused on our RP interaction. Alongside that, the now revealed witnesses that were going to speak about their accusation, were lagging and relogging every 2 seconds. It. Was. Chaotic. Thats for sure. So after a while of back and forth I logged off my Pojav from mobile and booted my PC to continue the interraction due to the fact I was lagging and being cluttered so much I couldnt respond with good effort or properly to most emotes. I had ordered a guard to guide _bats' char to the barracks but... they had to go and logged off. So I ordered another guard to take their place, but that guard was the witness I mentioned as lagging from their internet. I have to say I deeply disliked this interaction already, but we managed to make it half piece to the barracks eventually as the witness mentioned another witness, Dracanium's char "The Watcher", whom, was present... but outside the barracks. As we sit, Im mostly left alone to interrogate _bats' char and state the accusations due to the fact the witness present was lagging and was ooc msging me to continue on my own. This was obviously very awkward. So I begin stating the 3 reasons, out of which 1 stems from the witness, 1 stems purely from my char and 1 is a joint suspicion. What are the accusations? Being a warlock Associating with warlocks Spreading ill rumours of a realm From what I wrote, I think anyone would be able to look at the three accusations and the paragraph above and tell whose accusations is whose. Anyhow. Lets continue on the interrogation. How does it go? At first there was no Numendain present but 2 are called bh a present Celia'norian counciloress from the ones present to the city, which was a suspicious amount of people to be honest, but I wont question such. Then we start. The accusations are re-stated and we push to the proof part. I mention my char's base of suspicion for point 1, which is reinforced then by the witnesses' point 2. At this point Dracanium's char, a second witness is also in the barracks, despite the mess that was occuring all around us due to several CRP isolates around the city and its the second witness. _bats' char naturally, starts acting defensive and states they were spirit walked by a shaman which Im pretty sure was mentioned as being an orc of sorts. This didnt reassure my char, if anything it caused further suspicion. Why? Because my char sent Elora months prior to a orc shaman to have her cursed child curse cured. But it turned out they wanted to foster it further, an experience my char will obviously not forget, as Elora was a close relative to my char. Thing which also is why she heeded more her word on _bats' char being a warlock. So my char kind of connected those two points to fuel more suspicion into it. Is that unreasonable? Everything has a RP reason, as everything I know in this case is RP anyway. So how does this continue? I decide to state my personal accusation first. The spread of ill rumours which falls under Celia'norian laws and _bats' char was present in the city when I seized him for interrogation. So... whats wrong with that? Anyhow, the accusation is completely thrown out of the window... as physical proof is impossible on an oral account, it was disregarded as being simple speech and when voidal recreation of a situation was offered, it was denied as proof for being foul magic. Then the witness' speak on their accusation. On associating with warlocks based on what they had seen. I wont elaborate further on this as Nooblivs explained the situation well through my other interaction with Tar Anorhil. Of course _bats' char doesnt do much but claim he isnt one, wanting to rush out of the interrogation, which. Fair enough, why would anyone want to be interrogated? As this back and forth continues despite the witnesses' account, it seems point 2 and point 3 of the interrogation were completely disregarded on favour of point 1 by the defenders, as someone from cnor offers a spirit walk test on _bats' char. We agree to allow such after rply stating that I hope it isnt true. So what occurs after...? The shaman enters in and.... immediately speaks in favour of _bats' char with an extremely clear bias you'd have to be so dull not to deem it such. They say they're oathed and that they wouldnt lie and proceed to do the spirit walk thing. My char remained downstairs as the spirit walk was occuring upstairs. Now I dont want to be that person, but my char has seen many oaths be broken, so why would this be different? Afterall he acted biased and when the shaman comes downstair to deem _bats' char clear of warlockery, my char calls him biased. Which he responds to by stating open previous dislikement of my char. Is there anything wrong with deeming someone biased after such? I dont even know the lore of spirit walk admitely. Anyhow. What does occur after? Remember how the interrogation had 3 accusations? They were all somehow deemed 'invalidated' by a spirit walk which only occured to prove point 1's innocence. Naturally, even oocly I disliked how that went, as we were blatantly ignored, despite causing such a ruccus and rping through the chaos and then was told to not continue onto such lead IRP. And guess what? I didnt. I just RP'd being frustrated on the situation, blaming Celia'nor's council for rushing the interrogation due to the fact Pierce is Numendain. Now... lets go further and further....to.........the part Nooblivs is mentioned from my prespective. My irp father, Laeonathan's char, Raziel, recognizes Nooblivs's char, Anorhil as stated by Nooblivs. So when he heard of my frustration, he told me IRP to reach out to Anorhil. I said IRPly that its pointless as it would just stirr more ruccus. And it was left at that.......... until Nooblivs' char, now Tar of Numendil, Anorhil is on a visit in Celia'nor and asks of me in Raziel's presence, I was also present just to clarify. He learns of my name and rply asks me if Ive had any trouble with darkspawn, basically as he stated in his comment, wanted me to spill the beans. And my char didnt hesitate much, afterall the Tar himself inquired which made the situation not problematic diplomatically. I thought it would be left at that and that it was in Numendil's hands now. The next day? Or the same day? _bats' msgs me and states something about Sellswords. Now. Admitely. I have no idea what the Sellswords are. Regardless he then asks me about why my char has suspicion on his and I briefly had a conversation and explained to him with valid points. He seemed understanding and cooperative. I would never expect it that the next day, he'd make a report on this situation. I have no idea what had pushed him to change mind and deem me a metamancer. I also have no idea why he'd cut off so much rp in the report, but now I see who Retro is(as I admitely had no idea why they were mentioned) and that they wrote the majority of the report and... maybe it wasnt _bats' malicious intent to cut off majorly on the narration, which made it seem biased, but a delegation that may have accidentaly led to cut off a lot of the rp out. Whatever the case, I am disappointed and Ive not hidden that feeling. Despite RP being RP being deemed a metamancer makes things always awkward and even have been ooc commented on. Being deemed a metamancer over RP makes one less brave to RP things like suspicion out which can decrease RP quality. I think we all can understand that. Im still relatively new to the entire LOTC community and perhaps have been more confident in RP-ing suspicions. Yet here I am being deemed such. I hope _bats simply missunderstood and has had no other intent behind this. If the way I write throws you off... english is one of my 6 languages and not my first or even second and sometimes I might write words on different context than intended and with different gravities, I hope you take this into consideration. Anyways, I guess now all we can do is wait for mod verdict. If Im required to explain any action Im up for that as my first comment stated
