Death of an old dwarf

 

 

Early in the morning, the fog outside the mountain lies thick, Urguan is silent and everyone is still sleeping. If you listen closely you can hear the faint tap of a walking stick echo in the silence, creeping closer each second that passes.

 

You see a lonely hooded old dwarf slowly making his way towards the city gates of Urguan, but before venturing out he puts up a missive.

The missive would be labeled to the dwarves of Urguan. It reads as follows:

 

“ Dear kin of the Grandaxe clan and dwarves of Urguan:

You may not know me that well, nor you may have seen me for some time but that’s the way I have wanted it. I’ve kept for myself and I have not made much noise.  When you, whomever it may be, read this I’m gone. Probably far far away... or dead, most likely the latter. 

 

I’ve felt weak for decades, felt useless and frail. But that happens when you become as old as me, you become a faint image of what you once were…. I’m no longer the warrior I sought out to be, I can barely carry my axe anymore. 

 

I wish the best towards the Grandaxe clan, I wish that you always stay stout and proud for that is what I have always thought. 

With this I want to say:

 

 Farewell and goodbye clansmen, may Dungrimm guide me

And farewell to all whomever I've crossed paths with.

 

May  Yemekar guide you all

He would take one last look at Urguan before leaving it forever.

Leaving Urguan for the last time to meet his end by himself, lonely and forgotten out somewhere in the world. Perhaps in some cave when seeking cover from the weather? Maybe on some great mountain top that he so deeply loves? Well, we won’t know that. He is gone. Gone to never be seen again.

 

 

Why did he leave?

Well….. That question is what remains of him…..

I started playing Hréidmár Grandaxe sometime around 2013-2014 so I feel like it was time to let him go. Not the best way to PK maybe but he wasn't being played as much so... yeah.
