I write this as the third volume of a Knights compendium, as I research into the Knights of the Order of the Stallion and those who were knighted before the order was formed. This is a special edition, looking at those fallen, and posthumous Knights. Each volume will include three Knights, their known deeds and monikers.

Ser Vicente Murietta ‘the Loyal’ - 1935 to 1965

@Javert

Ser Vicente Murietta was the only child of Alberto and Carmella Murietta. He grew up in a farming village within Hyspia, alongside his childhood best friend and later wife, Mariposa Aganza. Despite his common upbringing, he was well-learned in Hyspias history and so when he had moved to the capital, he would write and teach the next generation. Alongside this, he became a soldier in the military and worked his way steadily up overtime until he came to lead it.

During his years as a soldier, he served in the Veletz-Coalition War and had even been captured at one point, where he was made to duel for his life. He lost the duel, but was allowed to keep his life if he swore on his honor he would not take part in the fighting again. He swore such and upheld that oath.

It was during the Hyspian independence meeting that he drew his blade, believing his Viceroy Cesar II to be under threat. He was executed for his actions, by one of his fellow soldiers. Some years later, upon the ascension of Xiomara I to the Hyspian throne, he was posthumously Knighted and dubbed Ser Vicente ‘the Loyal’.

Ser Nicolas Murietta ‘the Blunt’ - 1960 to 2009

@Javert

Ser Nicolas Murietta was one of five children born to Ser Vicente and Mariposa Murietta. His upbringing was not one of wealth, having been raised in tight quarters amongst his family. Nonetheless, his family was said to be close and to cook and sing often. In his earlier years, he was raised during a war between the Orcs and Hyspia but eventually found peace as the reign of Ramona I began.

With the execution of his father, he often assisted his mother in her day-to-day duties and took on odd jobs to assure the family stayed afloat. It was when he grew older, that he met Revekka Luceran during a season of Hyspias El Puente and the two soon married afterwards. Throughout this all, he was known as a blunt, no-nonsense man, who had followed his fathers footsteps in joining the military.

His eldest brother, Luis Murietta had gone on to marry the Crown-Princess Santana Leya - which in turn led him down the path he took part in later in life. A time in history, dubbed as ‘the Blue Night Massacre’ led to much of the changes he, and his wife would come to see - when the Crown-Princess Santana had been poisoned by the servantry of the palace. He would go on to lock down the city, and assure the three Princesses; his nieces were safe.

Upon the orders of Ramona I, the servants of the palace were all executed for their role in what took place and at an emergency court shortly afterwards, he and his wife alike were given a choice. For their family to rise to nobility, or for them to be knighted. With their children in mind, they agreed to the Barony.

It was shortly after that Ramona I would pass away, and the ascension of the eight year old Xiomara I, and his niece would take place. He would take on the role of Grand Councillor, advising her greatly in matters of the nation. It was upon her ascension that the young Xiomara had decided to grant Nicolas Knighthood, thus dubbing him Ser Nicolas ‘the Blunt’.

It was some years later in his life that the very same title he was granted, would be stripped away for his role in an attempted revolution against the Crown. His treason led not to death, out of respect for his familial ties and his many years of diligent work, but instead he was stripped of his knightly title, his role as grand councillor and made to abdicate his title of Baron of Ramonadora to his daughter, Rosaria Murietta.

Dame Revekka  “the Expedient”

Dame Revekka ‘the Expedient’ - 1960 to 2009

@zevenity

Dame Revekka Murietta, originally Revekka Luceran was born to Esmeray Luceran. While her initial origins are unknown, save for her mothers name, she was known to have been raised in Rah’tuma, a foreign vassal. She had come to move to Hyspia after visiting during the season of El Puente, where she met and went on to marry the Nicolas Murietta. Giving up her former way of life, she would move to Hyspia and begin to acclimate to the culture while raising her family.

While not a soldier, she would assist in conflicts but primarily held a role as a doctor. She tended to the wounded, and ran the clinic, teaching students and soldiers alike - so they may not only harm but also heal. Despite her teachings, she was not a woman known for her patience and so when the Blue Night Massacre took place, she did not stand idle and instead went in to assist. It was with this that the life of Ramona I was saved, when a woman, believed to be the assassin of the Crown-Princess Santana had attempted to put a hatchet through the Monarchs' back.

Not only had she saved Ramona I from such a fate, but she went onward to tend the wounded from such a crisis. The only wedded Knights in Hyspian history, it was her and Nicolas Murietta who stood at the forefront of an emergency meeting, where they were both offered a choice; ascension to nobility or to knighthood.

Much like written about Ser Nicolas, they had chosen to rise to a Barony, only to be later knighted alongside her husband in the court that took place in the coming days by the young Xiomara I. She was thus dubbed Ser Revekka ‘the Expedient’, but upon request was allowed usage of the term Dame.

She served as a knight for some years, orderless, and upon the attempted revolution alongside her husband was stripped of her knightley and consort titles alike.
