The following series of volumes is the first, hopefully, of many more, resulting from Lady Acelia Irena Colborn's dedicated efforts of over a decade and further work. Throughout the years, Lady Acelia has committed herself to extensive outreach, connecting with families from diverse backgrounds. She has engaged them in meaningful conversations, exploring their experiences and perspectives on the stars. Each family she has reached out to has been meticulously documented, highlighting how these stars influence their daily lives and aspirations.

The Orzan Constellation

Yet, should its stars gleam through a veil of mist or rain, it is seen as an omen of scarcity, a warning to delay the harvest until the skies have dried and the fields are ready to yield their gifts.

The Roznic Constellation 

 

On the first night of spring, beneath the watchful skies of Jula, the Roznic constellation emerges, gracing the heavens with its delicate glow. Like a celestial bloom, it unfolds gradually, each star igniting to mirror the tender unfolding of spring itself. When the Roznic Constellation reaches its rightful place, it is said to be the herald of new life stirring in the earth below, a radiant signal of spring’s imminent arrival.

The Ainzaer Constellation 

Low in the autumn sky, the constellation Ainzaer emerges from its hidden 'cave' beneath the horizon, a celestial bull heralding the changing season. Its bright stars twinkle against the deepening twilight, signifying good fortune for the house of Kortrevich. As the constellation ascends, it casts a shimmering glow that inspires hunters to venture forth, promising a fruitful hunt in the expansive wilderness.

It stills continues to this day, Ruthernian bannermen are seen in nearly every conflict that involves mankind. The Ishan Constellation 

 

The following constellation is one held in common by many noble households, its form shifting in accordance with the passing months. At times, it appears as a cross of Ivan, it is revered as an emblem of steadfast faith. Though it never heralds ill omens, its appearance under a sky cloaked in mist, rain, or snow bears a more sombre meaning: can reflect a faltering in the observer’s faith. Such a vision serves as a quiet summons for introspection and renewal of one’s piety.

The Samna Constellation 

 

During the coldest depths of winter in the month of  Umund, when the chill cuts to the bone, the Samna appears in the low eastern skies above Morteskvan. This constellation marks a significant moment for House Ruthern—a time when their unwavering resolve and mastery in arms are brought to the forefront. To those who witness its rise, the Samna serves as a symbol of fortune, often forged through hard work and perseverance, representing the tempered strength of their will. It stands as a testament to the indomitable spirit of this noble house.

The Wiltufez Constellation 

 

It is said that upon the bleakest nights of early winter, under the solemn gaze of Hyff, the Wiltufez  reveals itself with chilling clarity high above the skies of New Valdev within its rightful place. The stars of this foreboding constellation shimmer with a light so cold, it seems to rival the biting frost of the season, as though burdened by the very radiance they emit. Unlike the bountiful promise heralded by the Wiltufez constellation of Kortevich, this celestial visage foretells a graver portent—a time when tempers flare and discord spreads like wild embers across the frost-laden earth. A stark and poignant reminder of the unyielding and ruthless nature of House Ruthern.

Information has been Supplemented from the records from the Archives of Malkovya, the term Scyfling holds significant cultural and linguistic importance within the histories of its people.

Scyfling Noun:

Etymology: Derived the word Scyfe, which is the translation of GOD within the Scyfling tongue.

Definition: The term refers to "followers of the sky" or "followers of GOD" in the common tongue. Those of Scyfling origin closely observe the stars as a part of Scyfe, who is regarded as the Father of the Sky and the creator of all things—boundless and unending.

Scyfe The Skyfather

 

Scyfe the Skyfather is the creator of all things, boundless, unending. Watching us from above and guiding us on our path. It is to him we are thankful for all the bounties the world holds. In the common tongue,

he is known only as the Creator or God. He is the circle of stars that contains all other Constellations. They are but part of him who is the whole. The Constellation is seen as the namesake of the Scyfling Culture.

Astirr

 

Astirr is the Crown of Stars which is worn by Aster. The importance of Aster shall be discussed in future. Yet for now, The Crown of Astirr is made from the star's highest and brightest in the sky, like gems in a diadem. They represent the wonder, mystery, and ambition born from trying to reach that which is out of reach. To overcome that which was thought to be impossible to do.

Bliznyr

 

Bliznyr represents the arduous journey of life, challenges to come and to be faced -- to be survived. It is only through a steadfast gallop that one can carry the weight of life, and continue moving forwards. He is often depicted as a horse within Scyfling cultures and by how his cluster of stars appears within the stars at their peak.

Rovan The Ravenous

 

Rovan The Ravenous, for he ate until there was nothing left to eat anymore. When finally he starved to death his body became the nourishment for the world's awakening. Rovan reminds the hunter to follow nature's pact, to only take what they need. To not slay the wantonly for such will only harm oneself. He is often Depicted as a Wolf within Scyfling cultures and by how his cluster of stars is shaped.

Garm the Greedy

 

Garm the Greedy represents the impulse and vices of man, some cannot hold back, others steal what is not theirs and hoard riches which could be used more wisely. It was Garm who stole most of the riches of the North. It was likewise his greed which was his downfall. He angered so many and held his fortunes even when the realm was ailing, that a great host rose to slay him. He is often Depicted as a fox within Scyfling culture and by how his cluster of stars appears within the stars at their peak.

Yakor The Jolly

 

Yakor the Jolly represents both the childly innocence and the elderly warmth which tries to enjoy life and spread gladness to those around him, but he is no fool. In a way, he is the kindness afforded to others without asking for anything in return. He is often Depicted as a badger within Scyfling culture and by how his cluster of stars is shaped.

Tannig The Trusty 

 

Tannig The Trusty represents loyalty and steadfastness against the elements and those who seek to oppress. She would stand stalwart on her mountaintop to face any enemies, bucking them off the ramparts. They are the shield. She is often Depicted as a goat within Scyfling culture and by how her cluster of stars appears within the stars at their peak.

Lyra The Lauded

 

Lyra the Lauded represents the Phoenix which saved the North from the Long Winter. She is the song in our hearts, the warm echo which keeps us alive even in the bitterest of all colds. She is the Semblence of hope itself. She is seen within Scyfling culture as the greatest strength of humanity.

A young Koravian woman would gaze upon the stars in the night sky, though she was not the only one, a festive spirit was in the air all around Jerovitz as Koravian families gathered to gaze upon those gleaming stars that symbolized their culture so well, from the bounties of the harvest, the bringing of new life, to the changing of the seasons.
