Every three months, in elven time, the Kharajyr gather and celebrate all that happened in the quarter with a festival- the Quarter Moon festival. A joyous celebration for all the ages, it brings the Kharajyr together to honor the moon cycles, as they represent: life, death, seasons, time, and many more. They celebrate their late goddess, Metzli, and even in her death- call for her blessings. It symbolizes the unity of the Kharajyr and their perseverance to endure even the absence of their goddess, with their reconnection with the Great Breasts being a testament as proof.

The festival is held over an entire elven day, where many Kharajyr have worked the days prior to set-up the city in prepartion. Food stalls, pop-up shops, huts for storytelling, face paint and many more. Throughout the festival, many Kharajyr are known to bring gifts to their K’uhul Ajaw and High Priestess, as a celebration to them as leaders. The High Priestess will purify these gifts and send them off to Khalenwyr. And, finally, towards the end of the festival, a great Tlachtli ball game is held amongst the many prides to earn the Great Beasts & Metzli’s blessings.

Some Kharajyr, especially cubs, tend to paint their faces of the moon phase in which they were born under! Then they walk the city with the sounds of drums, cha-cha’s, and many other instruments flooding the streets.

The food stalls carry many rich dishes of the Kharajyr. Tea, Coffee, Tacos, Empanadas, Tamales, Arepas- The pop-up shops may hold Kharajyr crafted jewelry, fine clothing, pelts, special ingredients and also many more! There are carpets and huts for elders to tell their stories, as well as many paint buckets along the way. And the entire evening leads up to the final event of the night...
