To all who wander through Númenost’s stone paved streets and quiet woodland paths beyond, a humble invitation: I, Sindra Kevariel, daughter of a parchment-maker and lifelong friend to ink and story, shall be offering the first of many community classes at the Scholarium. These gatherings are open to all, free of coin, and made in hope to uplift the young folk of our city and those willing to travel from nearby lands. Whether you come by lantern-light from a distant farm or step in from the square just down the lane, you are most welcome.

The two introductory courses I will be providing are General Studies and Introduction to Writing & Reading the Common Tongue. The general studies class the Scholarium provides, will explore general knowledge, an introduction for those with bright minds and little guidance. We will touch on geography, history, the stars overhead, trade and fair dealings, civic understanding, and the small magics of daily wisdom. Each class session a guest speaker will be present to explain their craft and give insight to our young folks of the possible futures before them. For the Introduction to Writing & Reading the Common Tongue course, we’ll delve into reading, penmanship, storytelling, and composition—tools to give voice to every thought and dream. Free writing tools will be provided for these courses. Both classes are at an introductory level and encouraged for the younger amongst us, but all ages wishing to sharpen their minds are welcome.

In addition to inviting eager learners, I warmly call upon any who wish to teach or lend a hand. The Scholarium is seeking volunteers and instructors in the following areas: botany and herbal medicine, art and illustration, self-defense and personal safety, history, and more. If you have knowledge in your bones and a heart to share it, please speak with me, a city official, or leave a note at the Scholarium.

The first classes will be held within the Scholarium during The First Seed of S.A. 232. A volunteer will be present to help get students situated with their new courses. Refreshments will be served, and questions encouraged.

Let us gather not just to learn, but to grow together. Let this be the start of something lasting and a bright age of learning for Númendil.

In ink and earnest hope,
Sindra Kevariel
