Thoughts that Cling to Air

karin’ento ay ern’oriyath.

To the fellow Blessed Citizens of Haelun’or,

“karin’ento, ay ern’oriyath” or in the common tongueyou can think for tomorrow’ is a phrase that has rattled within my mind for quite some time. It is difficult to be in this state of limbo betwixt the old council and the next, where the selection of Sohaer looms over us all, and us candidates even further. It is why I write this today, to give space for thought and feeling and to write of some appreciations I have to those within our Blessed City.

It is my opinion that Octavius Visaj-Taharion’onn acted perfectly and swiftly in organising our assemblies, and evacuated much of the struggles and pressures that had built up within ourselves during the difficult period we have found ourselves in.

My appreciation also goes to of course elMaheral, of whom has been exemplary already as our most blessed, with their presentation at the last assembly and trying to set forth prosperity for people with the beginning of the selection for next Sohaer, as well as working already to combat impurity within our people.

One special mention towards Seth Calith of whom inspired me to write this missive and begin laying out the workings of my inner world, in the attempt to inspire others to do the same.

What I desire now is that us as a collective people begin to draw ideas; as candidate for Sohaer I have already worked tirelessly to begin work on directives and ideals to carry out should I be selected for the burden of Sohaer, or to hand over what I have produced for whoever does receive such a title. I would however desire to hear the words of the rest of the Blessed ‘thill, as I believe all are capable of fantastic ideas and propositions, some of which may have remained quiet.

I therefore plead to the fellow Blessed Citizens; if you have ideas or propositions to bring them forth, either under this missive as a response, or produced into your own work. We are articulate and blessed elves of this realm and we should communicate with one another as such.

We are seated at a time where we can already begin reigniting our passions and pursuits, to reform and rebirth our institutions and come together to create a prosperous future. So go outwards, Mali’thill and create our future.

Maehr’sae Hiylun’ehya.

Signed,

Acalmaehr Calith.

Octavius Visaj-Taharion'onn tapped his quill impatiently on the missive from Acalmaehr that he had been brought. The Visaj had a pile of unfinished drafts on his desk, a few unsubmitted books already in their hardcovers. He hesitated no longer, quickly reaching for one the finer and thicker parchments used for letters.

To Acalmaehr Calith,

I would like to preface this letter with a short note of gratitude for the generous words towards me. As I have made clear before: it naturally fell upon myself, as one of the active descendents of an Ahtalonnii, to gather the mali'thill anew and ignite discussion and preparation for the predicament we found ourselves in. We are not like the lessers. We will ensure the permanence of our Motherland.

The task ahead of us is monumental. Success in solving the domestic crisis; revitalising the Motherland culturally, economically and militarily is imperative in dealing with the dark reality of the violent realm around us. The eventual downfall of the new valah Empire, and the warmongering savages of Caurost, demand of us to build a state strong enough to weather the worst.

I thank you for your initiative and appeal. I shall in the next upcoming days submit a few public suggestions for policy, for the new government to consider when formed.

[!]Kirkigar read the missive in silence. A faint smile, a mix of respect and resolve, played on his face. Without hesitation, he took up his quill and began to write.

༺═━━━━━━━━━━{⋅.◡ .⋅}━━━━━━━━━━═༻

To Acalmaehr Calith and the blessed citizens of Haelun'or,

I read your words, Acalmaehr, and they stirred something deep within me.

Yours was not a political message, nor a campaign speech. It was a remembrance—a mirror held up to the soul of our people. You wrote not to win, but to grieve. And in doing so, you reminded us all what we stand to lose if we do not act.

I will not pretend I can match your poetry, nor your legacy. You are my teacher after all—not only in illusion, but in patience, clarity, and pride. You taught me how to find my voice. And now, I use that voice to offer a path forward.

Where you have written of pain, I write of structure.

Where you invoke our past, I dare to chart a future.

Where your thoughts cling to air, mine take root in stone, parchment, and law.

Because while the city we love bleeds and is dying, it also breathes between pain. And that breath must become motion. Motion must become structure. And structure must become meaning.

So let us not argue. Let us not fracture.

Let us offer the people not a conflict—but a choice.

Soon, at the debate, I will present my full vision:

A proposal for reform.

A republic of clarity.

A Haelun'or where every blessed citizen finds not only a home, but a purpose.

You wrote: Haelun'or endures.

I say: Haelun'or must also evolve.

I remain your student—always, llir of mine.

And I remain your servant, Haelun'or.

Maehr’sae Hiylun’ehya
