SINCE THE SETTLEMENT OF LOTHARIA, THE GRAND DUKE AND DUCHESS HAVE TAKEN THE TIME TO APPOINT AN INTERNAL COUNCIL TO ASSIST IN RUNNING THE DUCHY’S STATE OF AFFAIRS. This appointed group of representatives, chosen by the Crown themselves, shall henceforth be known as THE COUNCIL OF VILAHN, and dedicate themselves to serving the good people of Lotharia.

 

Anyone interested in joining the offices of the Council of Vilahn are encouraged to write to the Grand Duke, Grand Duchess, Amiratus, or the respective head of the office.

I. THE AMIRATUS

The Seneschal of the Crown.

 

THE COUNCIL OF VILAHN IS HEADED BY NONE OTHER THAN THE AMIRATUS, THE HIGH COUNCILOR. To be entrusted with the authority to head the Grand Duchy’s governance is by no means a light responsibility. Their duties pertain to the maintenance of the various offices of the Duchy’s executive affairs and ensuring all of the secretaries are fulfilling their own roles. In addition, the Amiratus serves as a chief advisor and right-hand aide to the Grand Duke, and in times where the Grand Duke may be incapacitated or otherwise unable to rule, the Amiratus may be selected to act as a regent.

 

This office is currently held by ESFIR ARTEMISIA D’ARKENT.

II. THE MAGISTER GLADII

The Secretary of Defense.

 

AT THE FOREFRONT OF THE MILITIA OF LOTHARIA IS NONE OTHER THAN ITS CHIEF COMMANDER, THE MAGISTER GLADII. The Magister Gladii is charged with the maintenance and upkeep of the militia, recruiting and training soldiers, and the supervision of all other mercenaries. In addition, they are expected to assist in taking charge of Lotharia’s forces during raids, invasions, or battles. As they are also the Grandmaster of Lotharia’s knights, they oversee the internal operations of the knightly order and the recruitment and initiation of aspiring knights.

III. THE DOMUS MINSTRI

The Secretary of the Interior & Treasury.

 

THE SECRETARY OF THE INTERIOR AND HEAD OF THE TREASURY HOLDS A BROAD OFFICE, AND WITH IT, MANY RESPONSIBILITIES. Firstly, they are charged with ensuring all architecture is kept up to Lotharia’s standards of compliance, which is done with a land survey. In addition, the Domus Minstri heads the department of immigration, and assists in recruiting new subjects and helping them settle into the Duchy. Furthermore, they act as the chief financial advisor of Lotharia and assist in the fundraising and funding of the Council of Vilahn’s various offices. They may also oversee Lotharia’s clerks, real estate, and tax office.

 

This office is currently held by ALEKSANDR D’ARKENT.

IV. THE LEGATE

The Secretary of Foreign Affairs.

 

THE LEGATE OF LOTHARIA HOLDS THE IMPORTANT TASK OF ACTING AS THE CHIEF DIPLOMAT TO FOREIGN REALMS. They may attend diplomatic meetings to assist in negotiating pacts and other peace treaties. Furthermore, they are expected to upkeep good relationships between the people of Lotharia and its allies. This may be by attending foreign state events and assisting in hosting collaborative gatherings between other realms.

 

This office is currently BARON AURELLIUS GREYE.

V. THE LORD SPEAKER

The Chief Representative.

 

THE LORD SPEAKER PRESIDES OVER THE LEGISLATIVE AND JUDICIAL BRANCHES OF LOTHARIA– KNOWN AS THE ELENAN FORUMS. Among meetings of the peers and commoner representatives, the Speaker holds order and mediates debates. Contrarily to the rest of the Council of Vilahn, however, the Lord or Lady Speaker is not appointed by the Grand Duke; rather, they are elected by noble and commoner representatives and then instated officially by the Grand Duke.

 

This office is currently held by AURUS GREYE-O’ROURKE.

VI. THE PALATIDORA

The Governor of Her Highness’s Court.

 

THE PALATIDORA, IN CONTRAST TO THE AMIRATUS BEING THE GRAND DUKE’S CHIEF ADVISOR, ACTS PRIMARILY AS THE RIGHT HAND AND ADVISOR TO THE CONSORT OF LOTHARIA, AND THE LEADER OF THE COURTS. They preside over the Cort Tou Oasi and are meant to embody the spirit and culture of Lotharia. Additionally, they may act as a pivotal external figure of Lothariaand host events in the Crown’s name to provide a lively atmosphere amongst the citizenry.

 

This office is currently held by COUNTESS ADRIANA TEMESCH.
