For many hours, the Princeps Consort endured a harrowing labor. The months of strain and worry that had shadowed her pregnancy and each moment of the birth carried fear that both mother and child might be lost.

At last, after a night of trial, the cries they had longed for did not come with strength, but with only the faintest whimper. A daughter had been delivered into this world small, pale, and frail. Though she lived, the room was filled with uneasy silence rather than celebration. In the weeks that followed, her condition remained uncertain. It was only after a month of careful observation, when her breaths grew steadier and her color returned little by little.

She shall henceforth be Christened:

Annika Ines Keen, First Daughter of the Princeps of Ivoria

Elijah looked upon the missive with a smile. "May both mother and child find good fortune ahead."

The Keen Royal then curled her lip at the news. As the likelihood of marriage and children slipped away for Heilwig, she focused her sights elsewhere.

The title of 'Aunt' was a strange new label, having no idea what babies or children even like.

The Princess stood sheepishly over a toy store counter, trying to decide what to gift the new Keen babe.

Lorelei Mairi Alstion-Enswerp blinked in surprise. “I am a great-grandmother? Surely not! But I shall send a present for them all.”

Prince Conrad Keen heard a baby cry for the first time. What happiness it brought him mixed with uncertainty. Hesitance over his own marital status. Above all else it was s startling thing as the realization became clear, he was an uncle.

An uncle who slipped out from Ivoria's walls and returned to Avistra to fight alongside those who raised him too. It was noble to be among ones kin to him, yet somehow the sounds of an innocent babe were far more daunting than the cry of war.
