THE FORCED HAND

[!] Several crows can be seen flying once more, scattered throughout Aevos and across the ships that began to flee the continent, with missives in their beaks. Should you approach one, it would cautiously hand you a missive, waiting patiently for you to either hand the missive back, discard it or give it a response. Afterwards, it would fly off without another word.

[!] Meanwhile, within the Imperial City of Grense, the bloody head of Lorena de Senna, her face emotionless, was tossed carelessly upon the streets.

THE FORCED HAND

It pains me that I must write this. And yet, you have forced my hand. The tyranny of the Empire of Man, the folly that calls itself holy, knows no end. And so, the resistance, too, will continue its resistance.

This day, we have taken one of your own; Lorena de Senna. Her innocent blood has been spilled in exchange for the hundreds of lives the Empire has wrongly taken.

Hundreds more will come to die if the Empire does not change, or fall.

The blood will know no end until the Empire meets its final fate.

What will be your response, I wonder?

This is only the beginning.

-=-=-=-=-=-+-=-=-=-=-=-

Return this bird with a response should you wish to join the resistance. Provide your name, and we may organize a time to meet.

Long live the resistance.

"Wait so they killed an innocent woman..." he said tilting his head a little "So your fighting the emperor... by killing innocent people, one must ask if you are truly fighting for the justice you claim or merely your own ego. Surely your not fighting for the people while killing them." he said shaking his head before discarding the missive from the tavern

For a brief moment the creased pages of the delivered missive were held gently in a Nord's hands after an incessant crow pecked upon his boots with the paper clutched in it's talons. The words upon the paper sent mixed feelings throughout his core. An innocents life shed for a rebellion? How could it be allowed to continue to fester in such a depraved cast of shadow? Without second thought it was shredded, wrought to nothing but tinder and the crow shooed away with a disturbed trill of fear that Tossair might swat at it.

After several missives he'd read from the Empire, he pondered; where would the inner conflict lead them? They had eradicated two forces that opposed them, one being of their own God. He knew this bloodshed would crescendo into something far uglier. "The Empire will fall." he muttered. "But when the hearts of men within this rebellion are weighed against their sins, will they find their respite?"

Lorena's sister sneers at the missive, eyes flickering between the swiftly crumpling parchment and Lorena herself - alive and well... enough. The sight of her sister's headless, lifeless, body would haunt her nightmares for the coming months.

Silently, Edith crumpled the parchment completely into a ball - throwing it against the wall as she watches it bounce back towards her in an instant.

"So this is what this was," she whispers, looking again to her resting sister. Full of life. Alive. "May these fools rot, and any who dares to join them."

Eventually, she'd come to burn the missive - watching intently as it turned to ash.

"Imagine, attacking a woman who doesn't know how to fight back and calling it justice. Cowards."

For no fool that called this justice had any spine, if all they could slaughter was easy targets.

Ser Leif Whitewood scans over the missive with a burning hatred after witnessing the cruel aftermath, "What kind of coward does that to a defenseless girl?" The Knight questions as he reduces the missive to ash in a nearby fire, "My spear shall pierce their heart when I find who is responsible."
