Omithiel 192 Share Posted July 15, 2011 Dawn approaching you wake up from the sounds of a bell ringing. A man shouts with news of the day. You open the window in your bedroom and curse at the man shouting. He ignores you and continues to give news until he is done. He than returns in the afternoon and finally in the night. A Town crier is like a news man who screams throughout the area giving news and ringing his bell. IT was I believe an old approach of how to spread news throughout a city or town or even a small location. What I had in mind was we can have an NPC give news at a certain time of day for example when the Sun reaches in Minecraft at a certain amount of degrees for instance 45 degrees in the morning, 90 degrees in the afternoon, until finally when the moon rises at 45 degrees the town crier shouts one more time than stops giving news since you cant work forever not realistic. (I dont know the time interval the Sun takes to reach 45 degrees.) (Minecraft of course :(.) How to Give the Town Crier News? By giving the Town Crier news, you right click another NPC who is sitting in a booth where you right click the NPC and pay the NPC a certain amount of minas. (Than I don't know much about programming.) Once you payed the NPC you than write a certain Message you wish for to be spoken out loud throughout the city or town. Of course you cant flood the NPC with messaging so there should be a limit to how much you can write and to how much messages the Town Crier can take. I would say about 8/8 messages would be good for one whole minecraft day. Questioning the idea: (These are things that doubt the idea that I believe are possible.) - Well I dont know if this can even become possible if there are any mods that allow this. - Can the NPC be contained to only message in a certain city, town etc. - Can there be a limit as to how many messages the Town Crier says in one Minecraft day. 8/8 perhaps. - Also when the Town Crier is done with there day can the messages be deleted and refilled with new Messages.
