OPENING DEBATES

With a large number of candidates running for Garmont Seats and the position of Mayor, the office of the Grand-Speaker finds it necessary to host debates to allow the people to determine which candidate speaks best to the citizen’s interest.

 

The debates will be held [Saturday 8th, 2pm est], and will be transcripted afterwards.

 

Citizens are welcome to reply to this missive or send birds to the Grand Speaker with questions they want answered from the candidates. The office of the Grand Speaker also would like to remind candidates they are allowed to campaign and make missives for their running.

 

FACILITATING FAIRNESS

In the Petran spirit of fair elections, the Grand Speaker will share some debate questions ahead of time so that the electoral candidates that are not able to attend the debate may answer them in their own missive. However, more questions will still be provided to candidates who are debating in person.

After the debates, transcripts of everyone’s responses will be promulgated to the people.

 

QUESTION I

“As an elected representative, what are the current issues you believe Petra is facing, and how will you address them?"

 

QUESTION II

“What institution, or law do you think is in need of most reform? And how would you propose to reform it?"

 

QUESTION III

“How can Petra stand to benefit from relations with our neighbours in Idunia such as Haelunor and Viru?"

 

VOTING

The voting for candidates shall be opened on [Sunday 9th 3pm est] and run till [Monday 10th 3PM EST], after which the results will be publicly announced.

 

Due to the large number of candidates, the voting shall be done through ranked choice.

 

GARMONT ASSEMBLY

The Garmont Assembly with the new elected body shall take place the following year 200 A.R.P
