It is with bowed heads and open conscience that we, the surviving members of House Roa, receive the decree of Your Majesty. We do not raise our swords in defiance, nor in plea for privilege but in solemn acknowledgment of our failures and our shame. We confess without veil or falsehood that our House stood among those who followed Peter Rovare in his grave betrayal of the Empire. Though our path to that ruin was not born from hatred of the Imperial Crown but through bonds of marriage and kinship now turned to ash, we do not deny that we walked where loyalty forbade us. Blood ties clouded our judgment and in that blindness we failed in our sacred duty to the Throne and to the Empire. For this failure there can be no excuse. We accept the justice of Your Majesty’s decree. We accept the stripping of name, of title and of standing. We accept the burial of House Roa as a noble lineage and the return of our blood to the dust from which all men rise equal beneath Your Majesty’s dominion. We do not ask that our name be remembered with mercy nor that our past be forgiven in comfort. We ask only that our present submission be known in truth. We renounce fully and forever any claim to any previous noble distinction. We renounce any allegiance given in error to Peter Rovare whose fate we do not contest. We renounce the Federation and all that it was, and we acknowledge the supremacy of the Empire of Man as the sole and rightful authority over our lives and our fate. Before the Seven Skies and before Your Throne we swear that never again shall the blood of Roa rise in defiance against the Imperial Crown. We submit ourselves as common subjects of the Empire, unworthy yet obedient and shall live henceforth in quiet repentance carrying the burden of our failure until our final breath.
