AS A DAUGHTER OF THE PRINCIPALITY OF MYRINE, and currently a devoted ward of Her Imperial Highness, Crown Princess Valentina of Asturias, I have always sought to carry myself in a manner worthy of my family and the court in which I am being raised. It is my hope to one day become a respected lady of the court, known for her grace, wisdom, and steady character. For this reason, I humbly seek admission to the Collegium, believing its guidance and instruction will help me grow into the role I aspire to fulfill. A letter of recommendation has been attached to this application for your consideration.

 

In accordance with the curriculum and tuition of the first semester, I have forwarded the admission and tuition fee, along with a small donation of 10,000 Imperial Farthing to the Collegium. As per the application guidelines, I have included my selected courses for the first term below:

To the Headmaster of the Collegium of Courtly Virtue for Young Ladies,

You may find this letter enclosed with the belongings of my good ward, Princess Caerine Mareno of Myrine. I write to you to attest to my young Lady’s good and noble will and spirit, as well as to inform you of her sharp wit and keen mind.

The young lady has, in her short life, aided me in various matters of the Imperial Courts in Azuras and has already shown great promise as an aspirant socialite, though she also bears the makings of a young scholar, as you might be able to see upon taking a look at her writings. She has served me as one of the most promising wards I ever encountered, and I wish for her to receive only the best education going forward. 

Though I regret letting her leave home and journey so far away, I can promise you wholeheartedly that if you take her in as one of your students and educate her as is befitting of her noble station, you will be all the richer for it.

Though it pains me greatly to see you go so far away, I pray this won’t be the last I see of you in this lifetime, sweet Caerine. You have been most wonderful, a fantastic companion to me, and surely too, to your cousin. We shall miss you greatly and pray for your safe travels, and your eventual return every night hence. 

Please do not become a stranger to us; write us letters, especially once you have arrived at your destination. Should you ever need anything, a higher allowance or some other form of support, you must let us know.

Further, please do not forget you are, Princess of Myrine. 

Enclosed in your belongings, you might find a circlet with stones of sapphire and azure. I want you to keep it, to remind you of home. Perhaps you might wear it on the day of your return.

From within that imperial suite, Eirene stirred. That night, the girl prayed for her cousin's safe return. 

A small pink peony was pressed into a letter, sent to the lands of Aeldin for Caerine to receive in the days to come.

Though we are only cousins, the hole in my heart you've left behind is one that only a sister could fill. I hope you know that I'll miss you dearly in the years to come. I never thought I would be able to navigate the courts alone, but it seems now I will have to. I only hope that I may make you and our family proud in your dutiful absence.
