It is said that when Magara’lin fell, Helun-Velulaeya fixed legs onto the boulders in the rubble of the city and breathed life into them, granting her people safe passage on their backs. For this reason, these creatures–called Stilt Striders in the Common tongue–are known by the maehr style: xy-hulud, translated literally as ‘shield bearer.’
