Bundles of newspapers would be spread throughout the realm. Each edition is printed on a cream-colored, sturdy handmade paper. The covers are decorated with sandy suminagashi, the paper marbled like the shifting sands of the desert. This must be...

Important Notice

Citizens of the Horde, urukhim, beastfolk, and allies of Krug’s blood must evacuate their belongings from the Goi. We will have one Krug’s week to remove our property and find lodgings elsewhere. If you are struggling to find a place to stay, please reach out to the following….

Kaalghaash (DrunkPapaBear)

Azhug’Akaal (Pancakehz)

Ilzho’Akaal (Ballentine_)

Always travel in groups along the roads! Large bands of buurzspawn patrol the land and many within the Empire harbor a deep fear of urukhim. Keep your wits about you, stay armed, and stay close to one another.

To the Grizh

My brothers and sisters, the war is over and the sons of Horen drove us from our lands. It is natural to feel despondent and to grieve the loss of our Goi, a project that so many of us worked so hard for. Yet we must not let ourselves fall prey to fear, contempt, and disarray for there is work to be done. To live with Krug’s blood is not a boon, but a challenge. It is not a task we can simply dismiss or abandon.

Unlike the sons and daughters of Horen, the blood of Krug is called to sacred purpose. We as urukim must consult our histories and remember that it was Horen who was tempted by Iblees and allowed his people to be massacred. We must remember that unlike his three brothers, Krug did not bow to the whims of Iblees. We must remember that it was Krug who took upon the mantle of Madness to slay the darkness. We must remember that Krug suffered to defeat the buurz. We must remember Krug put the Uzg before himself.

This difference is why the sons of Horen live under an absolute autocracy. It is the reason their church preaches false-dogma. It is the reason that their men and women are servile, brittle, and bigoted. Their creator chose to bow to Iblees, forever weakening their people.

One could argue that Hadrian readies his subjects for service to Iblees by corrupting their souls, stripping down men into banal tools of violence instead of creators of great wonders. By refusing to evolve beyond Horen’s greed for Ibleesian power, Hadrian condemns his people to the whims of buurzspawn.

For the sons of Horen, the consolidation of the realm is some sort of repudiation of buurz. They think they have formed a sufficient vanguard by centralizing authority around their Emperor. The histories tell us the truth. If Horen can make a deal with Iblees, a man can betray anyone.

While the Emperor may be able to dispense of corruption with purges, coercion is a tool with diminishing returns. Hadrian’s violence will be unable to stop the ability of every descendant to reject him. The Empire will collapse, leaving a broken realm ripe for the machinations of the buurzspawn. Even now they grow stronger.

Therefore, the grizh of Krug must stand at attention. We feel despondent, angry, craving revenge against the arrogance of man. Yet we must steel ourselves and prepare for the true battle against the forces of Iblees. The Uzg needs us. Krug did not bicker for power and titles amongst his brothers. He rose to challenge Ibleesian corruption, wielding the Madness as a weapon against the darkness. Arise brothers and sisters of Krug. There is hope in our grizh. His bloodlust is freedom from the chains of Ibleesian corruption, do not forsake it.

Uruk of the Week

G’Amar

This week we are celebrating my brother G’Amar. He is an uruk of great honor who is an eager student of Krug’s teachings. His humility, care for our community, and loyalty make him an exemplary model for others to follow. G’Amar rises to the challenges of the urukhim, fighting fiercely in our wars and embracing the trials of Akaal. During this transitional period for our people, he acted quickly and kindly to secure our people’s future. Whichever path G’Amar may take in this life, he will be a great boon to our people.

A dispersed Uruk of the Ugluk Clan would be sat on a small tent next to Alba, trying his best to brew himself some morning coffee with whatever crude pans and firestarters he had. Taking such sip from his awful cafe, he would be reading through the Kaktuz Weekli Newspaper. He would raise a brow at the journalist's heated attitude towards the war. "Huh... Dat's interesting. "  He spoke to himself, before then rolling the newspaper in a baton to try swat away some annoying flies. Soon after, the Uruk exits his tent to go buy some cigars from Alba, optimistic for the future of his kin.

An erratic goblin delivers the latest edition of the Kaktuz Weekli to Ghuun as he wanders across the lands of Norland. "Grizh-hul, Grizh-hun" he rumbles, before placing it into his travel sack, continuing on through new lands.

"We were mentioned a single time. Where there was once hope in my mind, there is now nothing.", The Tigerasi Aelkos held an apathetic gaze to the page, before casting it off without more than a moment of reading. ". . . For over a century, have I made the attempt.", the Aelkos spoke his final words as the wind carried the parchment off to wherever nature would guide it.

Spoiler

OOC: It is difficult to explain the feelings of warmth in my heart after checking the orc forums on a whim of curiosity and the first post i see be an issue of the KAKTUZ WEEKLI in 2026. I originally made the paper to keep record of so many orc events and interactions that otherwise would have been lost to time.

Thank you, @Ballentine, for keeping that tradition alive.

With gratitude,

M4nnam4nnaa, player of Kor'garr the Zkriptgoth
