A young yet tired looking elf stands up in the center market place. His scarred eye tells you of much adventuring and travel.

Hail to all travelers of Aegis I would like to bring to your attention that dragons will be coming out of hibernation after many years ((minecraft is adding Dragons. But i would like to ask you citizens, the inhabitants of Aegis, what will we do with them? Will they be changed and Made rideable? will they be hunted down and treated as a feral animal? Or will they serve yet another purpose?

I, being an elf, feel a strong bond with the Dragons who are almost our kin and it would pain me to see them hunted down and hearing their death screams would be agonizing and I would highly protest to such a vile end to such majestic and wise creatures.

I would much rather see them either flying free in the wilds or being ridden by powerful warriors. On the latter subject I believe that perhaps a dragon egg must be stollen and incubated, and that the eggs are rare and treasured, their would possibly be only 8 Ridden Dragons in the World.

Yet it is not my place to diside, only to ask, What shall we do with such dangerous yet majestic Beasts?

((note: I know that the last Dragons where supposedly killed by the humans, but that doesn't mean they didn't miss one or two.

A mature Elf approaches the market place and decides to share his point of view and knowledge with the young one...

Greetings young one! I've heard your words and let me point the fact Dragons are more than just magestic and powerful creatures...

The Dragons are the guardians of knowledge, they will protect it or share it with the mortals. From what I've researched, it seems their very origin is as magical and mysterious as them.

There are legends of a small civilization called "The Wild Elves". Most of these legends are unknown for most of the world, the few people who know about this think of it as a lie and something surreal...

[[ Take note this is a small fragment of some lore suggestion I'm working on. Unlike most other lore suggestions, I'm working hard so there's no need to modify the already existing one, but to add it without trouble. Again, when I'm finished and fixed all details, I will post it as Lore Suggestion. Aedan, my former character, is doing research in RP about "Ancient Races"]]

The Wild Elves were a group of elves who decided to live apart from the rest of the kingdom, they were seeking knowledge and answers. They traveled for many years until they found a location suitable for a colony. During many years they developed their own technologies and architecture, along with beautiful art and music.

One day, a creature became interested in these elves, they seemed peaceful, without hate towards others nor the thirst for war. This creature was a Dragon...

The Wild Elves' first impression of it was fear, but they were so interested in this creature they didn't run away, instead, they befriended this creature, along with a few others who survived hidden in caves and many other places. They shared their knowledge without asking anything in exchange. The Wild Elves were so intrigued by these creatures, they decided to give them a place in their society, they would become the elders...The Guardians of Knowledge and Wisdom...

This is how the Wild Elven ruler was born, called Dragonlord. He was to be chosen by the elder Dragon for his actions, ambitions and wisdom...

What happened with that civilization or the dragons is unknown, I yet to do more research about it. It's rumored some dragons turned to stone...some others left this realm shortly before The Undead came...

Again, as I previously said, there is a small chance they are still alive...somewhere...

Similar to as Aedan said, but different in it's way, there is a group of us who wish to become "Dragonriders" similar to mages, this is an elite group, only a few are chosen. There are Seven Riders from the Sun (( The good guys )) and three Riders from the Dark (( The bad guys: Undead )).

When a Dragon Rider dies, if he has a child, the first born will acquire that Dragon, only if he has the will to control it as his parent had.

OOC: It's all quite similar to Eragon in a way, but as of now, the rest we are keeping quiet ;)

This would Indeed be interesting.. Perhaps such beasts lay hidden within the Verge... Haelphon, perhaps ye' would consider using titles within these " Dragonriders" . Similar to that of the Druids. So, if Aedan were to become a Dragonrider, he could be, for example, The Madness Rider or just Madness. Moreover, you could name the rider's dragon instead? Suggestions suggestions suggestions!

OOC: That's sort of metagaming... Dragons have never existed in Aegis yet, and none of your characters have ever seen one. They weren't just hibernating...

OOC:

I was thinking, my new sort of faction called The Murdlaw, could worship these Dragons?

You might be thinking, oh Skyrim skyrim skyrim skyrim, Dragon Priest wannabe, and you right. It would be great to have some sort of Religion backing such lore for Dragons, like an ancient temple were made to bestow gifts to the Dragons. Basically we gather flesh from pigs and put it in a giant bowl ^.^.

Just an idea.

OOC: Again, dragons don't exist yet. The main map of LOTC does not have dragons, and you can't RP as if they exist until they actually do. There will be lore behind their creation, and no one will be given special powers revolving them (Look what happened with Undead and Ascended).

We must oust these creatures from our lands, or tame them them to do our bidding. Otherwise no good will come of them.

EDIT: OOC: I posted this from Minecon as an example to someone looking at the server, that's why it's kind of lame. :P

OOC: Hehe, OUR characters haven't. But what if an isolated civilization did...eh? ( don't bother to reply with an answer, it's just a comment)
