*EDIT: I cleaned it all up some more, included more attractive wording and added missing screenshots. Good for another re read incase a scene I described did not make sense to you on the first read*

Many have noticed the ruins in the mountains north of the Verge portals. But only so many found their way in. This is a journal account of one of those excursions...

20111110110252.th.png

When I first discovered the Dungeon for myself on the surface I found many clues, obelisks, switches, redstone, Iron bars with a look inside, and a grave. With strangers I found redstone that directed us down a stone corridor to a hole at the end.

Many have told before of redstone acting as a sort of sign thought be planted by evil forces, so before I continued I had to gather a small fellowship.

Dash Rogers sprints to his co-owned home in the verge to find miss Eoin the Elf, the Baron Cedric (Everlyer?) and a Dark Elf Tiger Druid with the name Darrian.

The Druid was hard at work conjuring a grand tree home from the earth out of the water for miss Eoin, so he could not be bothered. Instead I enlisted the two that remained.

The three of us geared up, chomped down, and set out by raft to the Ruins.

We arrived during the night and were forced to wait it out for the spiders and skeletons to disperse and burn. Once the Sun rose again we crashed on the shores and headed up to the Temple Dungeon. I showed them the switch and then lead them to the secret entrance. The heroes followed it to the hole at the end and jumped down. There was a chest to find when followed to one end and better part of the dungeon the other way 20111112165344.th.png

Redstone torches and ore lead the three to a gap with spiders leaping across the chasm to the other side not noticing the adventurers. quickly so as to not grab aggravation, they sneak to the left down the only available corridor. Upon entering the next room, skeleton warriors came out of the walls and engaged the "intruders" but were slain. Two chest were found in that room, but also like the first, were magically locked shut. The travelers find an old untrust worthy wooden bridge out of that room with a spider pit below and floor made of redstone ore. They were forced to cross quickly anyway without second thoughts as more skeleton troops form from the demonic spawn boxes and fire upon their backs

20111112165540.th.png

Then down that direction a dead end of iron bars is found that looks out directly south back to the portal Island.

20111112165756.th.png

In the fork before that path to the dead end chamber, a chest with a pit of lava in front of it is located. The heroes feel around and find a stone pressure plate. When pressed, a broken up path shifts out from the wall. It is decided that Dash will hold it down and the others would leap across to find that the chest was also locked.

They are forced to cross back over the bridge and dodge arrows once more and escape down a path just off to the left side nearby the original entrance to the skeleton occupied room. Here two Iron doors are found with two corresponding switches. When worked in the right order, the doors burst open. The heroes move in checking corners "securing" and locating, THE TREASURE ROOM. The three begin to rejoice and handle their picks eyeing the pyramid blocks of all rare ores brightenning the vault with their shine. The cheering instantly stops cold when skittering is heard... the three stop Jeering, look up from the treasures to witness the trap they had walked into! Scores of cave spiders leap down from the walls to strike, their slime dripping mandibles prepare for the feast. Dash Fires his bolts taking heads, the Baron smashes down and impales the beasts and Eoin slices through the armies with swiftness and ease.

Wave one was defeated just in time to see more monsters summoned from the burning, one way, nether portal cubes. "quickly up the stairs and out" Commanded Dash Rogers as he fired from the top giving his comrades supportive and covering fire. After frantically fiddling with the switches and beating the creatures back, the unbreakable Iron doors slam and seal shut once again trapping the death dealing oversized arachnids in with the bounty full and life changing treasures.

Moving the other way, a cobwebbed path is found.

20111112170256.th.png

Our Heros struggle through it to find another Iron door but singular this time. Dash locates the stone pressure plate beneath and instinctually knows this is a trap and ponders to himself, "If I were to continue through, and if I were alone, I know that the other side would not have a way of opening the iron door I just passed". Again Dash volunteers to hold the door and the Baron takes point beyond the webs....

20111112170258.th.png

Rogers waits for a response from his team, then receives it to realize he really should not have requested it. A sound is heard like shifting stone and a flash of light blinds Dash more so of what little vision he already had of his friends and Eoin screams. "What happened! What's going on! Cedrick!" Dash calls to the other members hoping they remain there while still holding the plate down. Miss Eoin answers meekly with a frightened voice "C-Cedrick.. He-He's.. G.. Gone..". Rogers feels her pain. "The Monks have him now.. I hope. It was a quick flash but did you take notice to his fault?" He asks composed and trying to keep his cool. Continuing his questioning, "What do we need to do to avoid the same fate?". Eoin regrettably reports no, she did not see did not see the event that just took the Barons life.

Intresting.....I will have to go take a look at this finding myself

Miss Eoin switches with Dash to hold the door so he can understand Cedrics demise and to figure out how to continue through with the dungeon raid from that room. Dash edges foreword with care and senses frosty..

((It was exactly like the scene from "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" near the end when the Nazis send a salve worker(Cedric) first through the spider webbed passage then after a sharp sound, his head mysteriously rolls back to the group. Jones(Rogers) is next up to bat and...))

... the webs gripping to his person. Dash arrives on the other side at a dead end baffled! There was not any visible evidence cedric was even there. Then it happened.. while looking for an uneven cobble block to find the way to continue through hoping to find the "correct" secret door, an unnoticeably small button is triggered by his clumsy elbow and Dash begins to hear the shifting of rocks again...

Quickly, Dash Leaps head first back towards Eoin expecting only the chamber Cedric was in to be the limited range of the unknown threat. Mid jolt, while in the air, the floor of the 3x3 empty stone dug out room, falls away from under the party leader, revealing a pit of lava! Rogers only just lunged far enough to get a hold of the temporary ledge. Eoin acts fast and lays prone leaving her legs to keep the door open and Lends her hands to her distressed roommate! Our heroes hands clasp tight in a way that resembled a heat welded bond, never to break no matter what.

They work off and with each other to complete the rescue attempt knowing the redstone timer is ticking and this demon will chew and swallow very soon.Eoin anchors her knees in the door frame while also keeping her heavy iron booted feet on the plate button and pulls the rest of her body and Dash in with her arms and legs doing all of the work, while Dash scales the wall with his legs to reduce his weight just in the nick before the jaws of the molten surging bear trap chopped closed failing to consume another hunk of living meat.

((...outwits the trap.))

The two, now without a Baron, realized the treasure is only a trick and must evacuate.

Earlier, before the single Iron door that split two rooms were found, and just off, Dash took notice of a double chest swallowed in webs and a crater just before it and warned his crew,

(when there was three in the party)

that if you try for it, you will become entangled, unrecoverable, and left behind.

"Do not let greed overthrow your mind."

Now Rogers has know Eoin for a fair amount of years now ((in-game years)), and from that relationship he has deducted that Miss Eoin is not like other Elfs. She is industrial, always gets her way, requires the largest bedroom in the house, can be greedy, and is, as Dash Rogers jokes, not the sharpest Elf in the tree. These attributes lead her dead on into that trick he previously warned them all of right after Cedrics downfall.

20111112170814.png

((dinner break)) EDIT: ((mac n cheese complete))

(luckily a server restart showed up in time so this could happen... -->)

Slightly annoyed with the blatant disregard of my warning but more worried about the Elf girl who is an important friend of his and now in danger of permanent imprisonment to eventually parish from starvation or devoured by the fiends that lurk these halls.

Dash Rogers could not let any evil befall any more of his friends especially ones by the name of Eoin! With a heroic cry that echoed throughout the stronghold, Rogers grips a crack in the wall behind him and thrusts his other arm in after his companion, once again as she has done for him just previously they grip tight and he rips her free of the deceptive silk threads.

*you notice you have been holding your breath since the begging of the last paragraph so you then release it all with an exasperated gasp*

*you take a break from reading for your eyes are starting to weaken but you must know how the story ends and read on..*

((I have to leave for a party so I'll finish the entry when I get back later tonight or tomorrow))

I'm copying Shois Journal format with a bit of my own ingredients thrown in.

Thanks a lot for the feedback

also there's an error that shows up when I post to many screenshots into one post. some pictures show up as un clickable URLs instead of viewable eye candy so I have to make multiple posts.

 Iblees  presence is strong, It has lured them in to find false treasures only to be consumed by his taint. Yet the questers are still at full strength and will, too fight on and continue through to the end.

Dash came here for answers and not treasures in the first place. He intends to do his part as a Loyal defender of his home world Aegis and contribute to the fall of the Undead once and for all.

NOTE: I cant speak for Eoin though. Sometimes I question, is she just a really tall, beardless, long eared Dwarf? come to think of it... I have never seen a female Dwarf in my life! She very well could be one, everything fits. Her stubbornness, greed, and industrial ingenuity... all matches perfectly? How *****.

After all the obstacles were dodged, and in the end no loot plundered, Dash has an epiphany,

"This entire underground fortress, is in all, one big trap, how did I fall victim! This whole adventure had been an illusion. We had the impression we were doing good, but in actuality we are the evil force! Breaking and entering with hopes of stealing protected treasures. My Humain corrupted side was running my subconscious all along. Iblees has won the battle. We set out to find the purging answer and instead were detoured by our infested subconsciousness. The evil temptations that of which is most prevalent in Humans, Dwarves and Elfs has shone through, (*referring to the ancient history*) took the Baron and nearly ended the two of us as well. We must dig deep to end it all or get out now before its too late."

Eoin listening to the truth in the words forms a goal in her mind, "I will redeem myself and prove my purity by digging deep and ending Iblees personally"

Rogers thinks of how he can save the two of them to return with stronger willed reinforcements.

"Lets move out. There is nothing left here but the taint that wants our souls."

Just then, when his smoke and mirrors had finally been broken, Iblees makes his final strike for Dash in the shape shifted form of a hand made of cobweb within a hole in the stone brick walkway they were just standing on.

It grabs Dashs legs and drags him in violently. The attack was far to swift for anyone to react in time and now Dash is out of reach from Eoin, helpless. Dash looks down to see the bottom of the 1x1 shaft is a sheer drop, enough to cripple and kill. Moments before the web that holds him upside down detaches, he spots half way down a dug out landing. His acrobatic agile hunter attributes take over and aims for the safer landing. The fall was broken but Dash is still stuck no matter.

20111112171638.th.png

Eoin calls out to him to know of his well being.

Dash responds with adequate news "I am not dead yet. The pit goes deep maybe it's the way out".

Now with full control over the situation, he slides down the walls to hopefully find an exit, but uncovers the fact that, of course, it is only another trap.

20111112171730.th.png

"I'm going to climb back up now stay put, are you secure? "Eoin responds "The scene is safe but get back up quickly"

Dash then says "will do, almo-" the part of the dirt wall he just got leverage on had crumbled but Dash recovers quickly.

20111112173108.th.png

The climb is long and tiresome. He looks up and sees a lifeless skeleton corpse fall down towards him and he dodges it hugging the wall as gravity pulls it past. Looking up again he sees more skeletons at the top and knows he must return quicker to join Eoin in the fight she is engaged in.

20111112171842.th.png

Soon enough, he has resurfaced but is far too late. Eoin is nowhere to be found...

*you look to see there are more full pages in this copy but hold off on reading on because you hear something in your vicinity, bookmark your place, and investigate armed with your weapon...*

Well you simply must just jump right in good sir. A truly thrilling good time for any hero so bold enough.

(( oh my... This wasn't supposed to be broken into, that area was going to be a future event sight. It seems that perhaps is a little ruined now.))

I will not finish the story then... Everyone will finish it together with me.

But basically all that was left of what happened played out like this. I figured, knowing what Eoins next plan of action would be, is too get to the bottom of the mystery. Instead of trying to get out to safely, I pressed on after her. I climb lower and find more secret rooms, I get lost in an expansive cave system, oggle at the most beautiful ravines, then... Find Something, unexplainable... I have screens but will not disclose them. Before I was able to continue I WOKE UP near the exit portal on the main island... It must have all been a dream (( I logged off before I went beyond into the unexplainable, then when I logged back in I was on the surface of the world.)) I returned to my house in the verge to see Eoin fine and well and the Druids tree home 97% complete. I must have been out for a long period but did not question Eoin anything about it so she does not take me for a nutter.
