[[ What? Erus is a man of few words. Unless he's killing someone. Or insulting you. ]]

((Due to popular demand, the final day of Cataris conDoin))

Cataris opened his eyes, he looked to the sides to see the other tombs about him. He grabbed hold onto the sides of his tomb, he lifted himself up and out. He looked down to see the naked rotting flesh of his skin, very little flesh was left, many bones now jutted out of his thin, frail skin. He leaned down and picked up his robes, stave and Iron Crown from in front of his tomb. He slowly dressed in his robes, he slowly placed the Iron Crown aloft his head and walked warily out of the chambers. Looking up he saw the other towers protruding from the roof of the Nether, hanging down like bats, lava spilled everywhere. He leaned over one of the many pathways to the other towers and looked down at what was below, an old ruined temple was now drowning in an ocean of lava, thousands of pigmen, zombies and skeletal soldiers stood ready to enter the portal into Aegis and spread more chaos. Cataris walked to the Portal tower, he walked up the stairs to the topmost portal, walking through he was filled with a sensation of that of someone tearing at his body, pulling at him from all directions. He opened his eyes to see he was in the room surrounded by fire and netherack, he walked to the end of the room and climbed the ladder, climbing up to the top of the ladder he walked to the end of the room, moss has grown throughout the room, filling in the cracks between the cobblestone. Cataris pushed a small out-of-place piece of cobblestone inwards, the wall to his left opened up into the world. Walking out the sun hurt his eyes, his eyes adjusted to the brightness, he walked warily across the sand dunes, looking behind he saw the mossy ruins, crumbling, from which he had left. He continued to walk southbound towards the Nations of Aegis.

Cataris walked into a dense forest, he sat down on a fallen tree, staring into a nearby pond, his reflection, horrifying. The words Zebana had said that day near the Kings Keep in Al’Khazar had been crossing his mind far too much of late. “And what of your Wife? If Iblees considers you such an asset, would he not grant you your wife? What of your daughter?”, he had enough. The very thought of family had of late broke through his mind and increasingly haunted him, with such his powers had seemed to be dwindling. The images of Alethion, Rhisereld and Vaelinor crossed his mind, for a second, sorrow seemed to fill the hatred filled corpse. Cataris took out his staff, grasping the shaft of the staff tightly, his bones shook violently as he gripped the staff, the wind picked up, his robes flapped in the air, the trees swayed as leaves came pouring down from the trees and blew off into the horizon. Clouds gathered above Cataris as the wind picked up more violently, he seemed to soon blow away in the ferocity of the wind, though his magic kept him on his feet, a nearby tree fell down from the gale of the winds as they increasingly picked up. Lightning struck the ground, the earth began to shake as Cataris stood amidst the storm he had summoned. The wind began to stop, the trees stood still as the clouds dispersed, cracks had opened up in the earth surrounding Cataris, though he stood still as ever, the memory of his family long gone ever haunting him. He had made up his mind, he knew what he was to do. Cataris felt through his mind, finding the link between him and Lucas Black, finding it, he sent one last message to his colleague " I'm going to the Whispering Isles to deal with Alethion once and for all. Do not interfere."

Cataris stood atop the Hollow Peach Inn, waiting. He could feel the energy traces of Lucas Black nearby, he smirked at that, never one to listen when something “fun” was going down. He had waited long enough for this, his time upon Aegis has been long extended. He took out his staff, gripping it, he rose it high above his head, calling forth lightning to strike the houses within the Whispering Isles, soon enough the parade of soldiers came streaming forth from the Whispering Order barracks. They shouted and roared in defiance, though their protests were heard upon deaf ears, Cataris merely wanted to fight Alethion alone, though the more the better. “Alethion!” Cataris shouted from the rooftop “I have come to end you! Face me now! Meet your inevitable doom! I will give you a moments chance to say your farewells!”. With those words, arrows whistled past Cataris’ head, the few that were to strike him, he merely raised a shield made of pure energy to deflect the arrows. Annora rose her voice above the others “Coward! Fight us! We will not let you have him!”, such defiance enjoyed Cataris, with a smile he rose his staff once more, calling down lightning onto Annora, her strike missed by mere metres, though it stunned her and knocked her off her feet, splashing into the water, a few men jumped in to get her out. Cataris payed no more attention to the others, his eyes were on Alethion alone. Alethion nodded to the others, he kissed his wife on the cheek and promised he would be back. Cataris grew impatient, shortly Alethion managed to get on the rooftop, sword ready. Cataris smirked at that, such tools of mortal men were useless and weak against the power the Undead wield. Cataris thought to fight him on equal ground, he swung his staff around, attempting to knock him across his head, though he brought up his sword and deflected the blow, metal ringing in the air as iron and gold clashed. Cataris swung his staff left and right, though each time it was blocked by the superior youth and strength of the living. Cataris heard unsheathing of blades close-by, turning he saw several men had managed to get on the rooftops, he swung his staff around, dangerously casting the lightning onto them men, though too close were they, it struck nearby Cataris, lighting his robes aflame, the memories of Kal’Bryst rushed into his mind, the burning necronomic flames licking at his face. He shook his head and rushed to the end of the building, he jumped off and splashed down into deep water, he grasped for a ledge, finding one, he pulled himself out of the water, sputtering water out of his mouth as he limped away into a nearby altar room, pillars surrounded him on all sides as he slowed down and leaned on his staff in exhaustion, he noticed in the corner of his eye, movement. Turning he saw the armed men of the Whispering Order had surrounded him, desperation heightened in his mind, looking back towards the seats he saw Lucas Black sitting down, watching. Alethion walked out from behind a pillar, sword at the ready, Alethion nodded to the other soldiers as they stepped back, knowing Alethion should end this. Cataris lifted up his staff, using the butt of his staff as a ram, he knocked Alethion onto the ground, blood rushed from his nose. Cataris rose his staff above his head, he started draining his body of all strength and energy, for one final spell to end everything, once and for all. His Iron Crown grew heavy atop his head, his robes seemed to drag him down as he became a hunched old man, he seemed to visibly weaken at a frightening speed as the clouds above Whispering Isles grew a sinister black. The very staff he wielded seemed to crack. Suddenly the voice of Annora was heard from behind, turning he saw her, bow at the ready, her leather armor charred and visible burn marks along her body. The arrow flew across the hall, speeding past all the others, time seemed to stand at a still as he turned to see his staff shatter at the impact of the arrow, the spell was not ready! Cataris threw his hands out towards Annora as he screamed, fire roared from his palms, covering Annora in the necronmic flames, as a spear of light came rushing down from the sky, striking Cataris conDoin. Everything that once was Cataris was gone. The strike of the lighting so fast and powerful, that Cataris’ shadow was drawn across the ground in the ash, as if he was still standing there, the Iron Crown lay in the ash, several shards of his staff still remained behind.

((Tis truly a shame Cataris will always be remembered as the villain, and not as the hero he once was. He never wanted to be what he had become, he did not have a choice.))

((Beautifully written. I will truly miss Cataris, it was a pleasure being his target and enemy... as this was a truly dramatic and intense event.))

Alethion Jots down some writings in his old journal, hidden within Menel Nen Arda...

"It all started with a simple curse... Cataris' Curse. It was nothing immense... but curse messed with my body in such a way, I was weak. My eyes were filled with lust and the after effects of the curse were strong. Thanks to such traits, I have betrayed Rhisereld, and given my love to another. She has rightfully left me... perhaps for good. Though I pray it never be so. I will do what I take to get her back... I fix this family. I will not let Rhisereld down, not after everything we've been through...! And though Cataris has fallen, his chaos lingers on..."
