Character Name:

Roen Eversnel.

What is your Race?:

For now, it is unknown, but at one time in the past, he was known as a halfling.

Biography:

Background

Born into a low income family, Roen, a young elf at the time, at the age of 15, worked his days in the fields, trying to earn some money to support his family. Once Roen began to learn of new ways to earn his money faster and more efficiently, he crossed upon a new method, a dark method. This was not a method ever practiced by anybody else before, but designed by Roen.

A New Mind

Dropping out of his classes at the age of seven, Roen did not learn much of the things around him, except for one subject in particular, philosophy. Troubled with his life, Roen focused in class, trying to learn ways to write and read easier and with more description, so he could explain his thoughts and words of wisdom, in an understandable, but coded way. Being a quiet and shy student, Roen never listened well in-class and just went off of what the world had told him, and had eventually learned to read and write human script, but not Elven since it puzzled him far too much with its ways of pronunciation. Rejected from his classmates for his horrible understandings of what was taught, Roen eventually stopped going to his classes and teachings altogether, and to refuge locked in his room, writing about his feelings, inside of his vastly changed outlook on the world.

The Transformation

After handfuls of hours of works in the fields of his parents' heir of many ancestral ages before them, Roen found a strange pathway, where the wheat flattened down, as if somebody had been there before. Following the path, unknowingly of what to expect, Roen followed the path into a nearby forest. There was one thing a little weird about the path that led into the trees though, the flattened wheat led into a dead end, as if somebody had turned around suddenly. After noticing this, Roen hurried his path, and started lightly jogging into the forest, feeling something drawing him near. Running swiftly through the branches and through the trees, unknowingly of the suddenly darkening air around him. Roen came to a sudden halt after getting his foot caught on a branch on the ground of the now, pitch black forest.

The Book

Scrummaging around the floor, looking for some sort of thing to get a hold of to help him up off of the ground, something soft had made contact with Roen's palm. Slowly moving his hand back over to it, the emotional force bringing him into the forest in the first place, was strongest. Clenching his hand on top of the item, Roen quickly dragged the strange object towards his chest, feeling a darkness grow in his heart. As the darkness deeper and thicker, Roen began to see better after adapting to the new environment, in which he was now enveloped in, and lost. Steadily, Roen pulled the silhouette of darkness away from his chest and opened its cover, as if it were a book. Looking around to see if anybody had seen him, Roen had slowly crept deeper into the darkness, and away from his home. One glimmer of light, off in the distance had caught his eye, which Roen proceeded to follow to.

Out of the Darkness and into the Black.

Stumbling and tripping over many things amongst the forest floor, Roen had almost reached the source of the light, when he realized that things had changed. Finally, breaking out of the darkness, Roen had reached the fields in which he worked in, and saw his home just off into the distance. Checking to see if his parents had seen him and his book before making any movement, Roen had slowly crept out of the woods and had a strange feeling in his heart of not being wanted or loved. Roen forced the feelings back and tried to walk forward. Moving the branches out of his face, he noticed that all of the wheat that was once in the field, was now ravaged and rotted. In an attempt to hide from the scene, Roen ran back into the woods to waste some time before his parents saw what happened, since his lack of education led him to the assumption that crops can be destroyed in a matter of hours.

The Un-Knowing

In fear of punishment or abuse from his parents, Roen stayed in the forest for the rest of what he had thought was a day. To pass the time away, Roen had opened the book, and tried to make out the words, but couldn't because of the surrounding darkness. Roaming the surrounding area for countless hours, Roen grew tired of waiting for the day to pass and ran back to his home, only to find his mother and father at the foot of his home, dead. Nothing about their bodies showed off any signs of what could have happened, which led Roen to immediately think of being framed for killing his parents for any given reason that a guard of his town would come up with. Trembling in fear of what might happen to him, Roen began digging two holes in the field as a grave for his parents. Surprisingly, Roen felt no grief about his parents' deaths and continued on to drag his parents into both of their holes, then fill in the dirt over them.

The Choice

Depression had sided over Roen and his life, with the now death of both of his parents, and had begun to quarrel in his thoughts and actions, as if he had two personas. Being all alone to run his home, Roen developed his own speech and would talk to himself instead of thinking through his thoughts and conscience. All it took for Roen to make him decide to eventually leave his home, was one glance at the book's contents in the light. But was there contents in the book? Did the book even have writing? No. The book had been a series of pages that had visible words, only in the dark. The book's writing that only Roen could see had driven him mad and had manipulated him to go and live in the surrounding forest.

The Transformation

Roen had started to see his life through a different lens, and had thoughts of his family and what happened to his past, but that is enough of his exact events, I now must explain what had happened to him... Living in the darkness of the forest, with only the Evil book, Roen's eyes grew a light blue, as if he was blind, but that was definitely not the case, Roen had the eyes of a Hawk and new the forest like the back of his hand. His life in the forest had warped him into a disgusting, slimy monster that could eat any living thing that crossed his path, which kept him alive.

The Travels to Orcish Land

Growing tired of the forest land and feeling a sense of urgency to remove himself from the society of the quickly vanishing forest from new settlers, Roen travelled across the lands for many months, finding shade to stay under during the day, and running across the landscape at night, until he came across the gates of the Orc settlement, where a giant mountain lie. Fascinated by the mountain and its many caverns, Roen decided to live inside of it in its darkness.

This is the beginning of Roen's accounts in Aegis.

Your characters ambitions:

My character has no ambitions, only the extreme passion held to his book. Roen's only goal in life is to survive and to keep his book safe from anybody who comes across his path.

Out in the Wilds, your character comes across a small cottage. Outside, there appears to be an elf struggling combat with two bandits. What does your character do?

Roen would reside amongst the trees, waiting for his moment to make a move and run away without being heard, making sure that nobody had noticed him or his book.

Your character walks up to a shop in the middle of Al'Khazar. "Hello, my good sir!" says the shop owner. "What may I help you with today?" How does your character answer?

My character would never be in this situation, making it impossible to answer with anything that would go along with his storyline.
